I think that Ned was either going to chop off his head or send him to the wall for selling poachers that he captured to slavers, but he slipped away to Essos before they could get him.

Remember the sword that The Old Bear gave to Jon Snow? That belonged to Ser Jorah first. It was a family heirloom that had been handed down for generations, but he left it behind, out of respect and shame, when he ran away.

Game of Shadows was all right, I probably would've liked it more if it had had a more well-rounded story and Rachel McAdams had been in it a lot more.

Hudson is awesome because he's such a colossal sissy and for some reason was chosen to be in that squad of Marines to protect the colonists and Ripley. Watching the original Underworld right now, that leather onesie Kate is in sure is...nice.

Went for a swim earlier even though I hate getting wet, wish I had skimmed the pool first, dead bug everywhere. Now wondering when we will get Underworld 5 and whether it will be any good.

I also loved Prometheus. I forgot to bring my movie cash last time we watched it at an IMAX 3D theater so I get to go again later this week. :D

I will probably see it again myself, looks like the movie selection for the rest of the year after July is going to be pretty poor. No wonder I usually go to the theatres only about 20 times a year. :o

Yes, it's all coming together now. I didn't realize the sword given to Snow was Ser Jorah's. I recall The Old Bear saying it's an heirloom, but at the time, didn't realize Ser Jorah was his son. What a great show!

I dunno, James Cameron does some pretty dazzling visuals, Christopher Nolan's Inception was also a reference disc off the top of my head. Heck, Sucker Punch and Watchmen, both by Zack Snyder were a total treat visually as well.

And even better the 2nd time is on them. What BD did you get your movie cash in? I used movie cash for Men in Black 3.

The best film in that franchise, both a good and bad thing. The bad thing is it was probably the last one, the good thing is that franchise goes out on a high note, at least quality-wise. Prometheus will be better the next time I see it since the theatre will be a lot emptier so it will be easier for me to enjoy myself.

Monday night cage fighting. Is it Baron Von Raschke vs Crusher Lisowski?

I think you should fire up AvP tonight. Yeah, the audio in Prometheus is stellar. I bet the BD will bring the house down.:ohnoes:

Funniest scenes to me -
[Show spoiler]Biologist smoking weed through his oxygen mask
Vickers offering to have sex with the pilot after he accused her of being synthetic

The best scene to me was probably the one that upset a lot of people -
[Show spoiler]the final shot when the first Alien was "born" as a hybrid between Shaw's fake child and an Engineer.

MIB - 3.5/5
MIIB - 2/5
MIIIB - 4/5
III had the best villain, the best Kay and Jay interactions and probably the best hotties. So it wins, at least for me.

I got mine from preordering Prometheus on BD. Someone in the deals section mentioned that one could technically cancel the preorder and get $10 for free...but I got no intention of doing that as I love Scott's work and this genre. ;)

landry_p2000 06-19-2012 07:09 AM

What's shakin' Wabo? Me and the wife are about to start season 4 of True Blood in a few ticks. :)

Yeah, the villain in part 3 was pretty good. But I'm partial to the Edgar Bug in part 1.

I remember you mentioning that awhile back. I couldn't believe they were taking preorders for the BD before the movie itself was even released in theaters.

Hey Landry,

I've never seen True Blood. I hear it's pretty good. Plus Anna Paquin gets nekkid.;)

Was able to price match the TV I got almost a month ago to save $30 and get the price down to $250, which I think is really good. Yes I know, Wabo doesn't think $30 is a big deal.

It's been hot & humid the last couple of days. Making it ripe for thunderstorms. We had a doozy move thru last night. Woke me and my oldest kid up at 4am. It looked like WWIII outside and we lost power for a few hours. The wind was so brutal it blew my grill across the deck and into the patio furniture. Fortunately for us, we only had some branches down in our yard. Our neighbors had a tree blow down in their driveway. Blocking their garage. And more storms are forecast for tomorrow. Whoo-hoo.

Wow, stay safe Wabo. Does this mean a new grill for the Wabo patio? ;)

Be positive and imagine that the weather was sunny in the low 70's with low humidity...

It's been a scorcher in Toronto as well. At 7:20 it's still measuring 33C (91.4F) and 43C(109.4F) with the humidex. Tomorrow is supposed to get worse!
