I normaly do a thumb drive , i've done ISO CD previously but prefer a thumb drive .Check those updates my friend ;) :p and let me know if you were as far behind as I was lol :D

Ed and Jeff... any reason why you just don't use an ethernet cable to update your equipment?

If you were lazy then you would have a cable to the system. A lot easier than burning Cd's or copying to a thumb drive.

Wabo! 12000 posts! You need a life man!:p:D

How are you my friend? I thought I read that your son's baseball team has been invited to the states. Congrats.

I do have a question for you regarding your trips to the IMAX 3D Cinemas.
Does that experience make you want to upgrade upgrade to a 3D capable projector? I know you've talked about it before, but I would think after seeing all of the movies you have in 3D, it would motivate you to go 3D at home.

I'm afraid to go to a 3D movie. Why? I'm afraid that I would love it so much, I would immediately buy a 3D capable TV, BDP and Processor!:ohnoes: At best, those are end of the year acquisitions. And even that's a maybe.

I use an ethernet cable when my AVP needs to be updated. Otherwise, my router and HT and not connected. It's just as simple to burn a disc.

Whoa, a rare and elusive LDG sighting. Sasquatch has taken a photograph of you.:D How ya been, man?

Yeah, my kids team is going to state for two tournaments. We're really looking forward to that. Thanks for asking.:)

I'm still not sold on 3D at home. Seeing a 3D/2D movie at the IMAX takes it to a whole other level. Watching movies at home I'm usually watching with the kids and Mrs. and no one wants to wear glasses to watch a movie. Plus the Mrs. flat out despises 3D. When she found out Spider-Man was in 3D she decided not to go. So it was just my kids and I. Which was fine, it saved me $16.50. But I digress, to answer your question, no, going to 3D movies at the IMAX does not have me wanting to go 3D at home.

But I think the LDG HT will be rockin' in the 3rd dimension. Do it, man!

Hey Wabo,

Congrats on making it to state Wabo!

Do you ever have to back off the volume when watching with the Mrs? I get some complaints and requests to dial it back sometimes, not that often though. They daughter is a different story, she likes to hear the subs bang as she says.

What are you typical listening levels?

I know what you mean on two fronts.......... The elusive LDG sightings and not being sold (what's so ever) on that 3D gimmick . I just recently watched Ghost Rider II (which seems to be shot for 3D) and it was an atrocious production . It seems they just put that slop on screen purely for the 3D effects  . What a waste of money

Good aftarennon, Aces.

Thanks, amigo.:) It'll be an exciting time.

The Mrs. has been very tolerating of the volume. I don't think she's ever once asked me to turn it down. Just not turn it up.;)

I have my kids conditioned to appreciate quality LFE. When a scene comes on and you can feel the bass permeate and shake your very core, I'll look over at them and say, did you feel that? They both look at me, shake their heads yes and grin. It's awesome.:D I usually start a movie at -18db. Then, if need be, slowly work it up to maybe -16db. What level do you listen at?

Howdy MU,

Best Buy is bringing back their $5 DVD trade-in program this weekend. I'm gonna wait for that then get the Blades and Spawn.

That's a great idea if they keep the prices at $9.99. If they jack it up to $14.99 then it sucks.

I think Aero mentioned the $9.99 prices are good thru the 21st. I'm hoping to get these movies at $4.99 a pop.

My wife doesn't care if she watches something with just the tv speakers, when she asks my daughter if she wants to watch something with her my daughter asks "Where are we going to watch it?"

If the answer isn't downstairs in the basement she passes on watching anything just using the lcd in the tv room upstairs. She's starting to appreciate good sound at an early age. Hopefully this continues and she doesn't become an I-Pod listening, Netflix streaming kid like virtually all her friends will be. Hopefully your kids will follow your example and avoid the low quality convenience orientated media.

As far as listening levels I usually just set it to -15 and leave it there, sometimes we/I feel like cranking it up and I'll take it up to -10. With my current system the loudest I've watched a whole movie was -7 with the subs set 6db hot, that definitely shook my core. The movie was TF 3 and that's only happens on rare occasions now.

Don't know about Tatum. But I used to have the 70's Evil Knievel action figure and RV.

Hehe. That sounds like my wife. She really could care less if she watches a movie in the HT or on the family room tv. I'm trying to teach the kids about quality media. But it's an uphill battle. They still ask for dad to add songs to their iPods. Which I do. But I buy the CD and rip it at 320kbps. I know it's not the same. But it's my little way to stick it to the downloaders. Take that.:D

So the "earthquake" the USGS reported was actually Aces turning it hot to -7db for some TF 3 lovin'. Lol. I bet there's some structural damage to your house.:D
