Lol. Doesn't everyone get six chances?:D Not you nor I. The warden sure has his hands full. Good luck.

How have you been? How's the HT sounding with your new additions? Seen any good movies lately?

No good luck needed for me I hope they lose all games. My screen name could read USC sucks just as easy. I'm digging the upgrades to the HT but haven't had a chance to really work it out yet.:o Last 2 movies watched were Tangled and Easy A. Both were decent, daughter loves Tangled, but not an HT workout.

That's blu-ray purchase money you're sacrificing dude!:shakefist:

Mornin', LDG.

I didn't even see him until it was too late. I was coming over a hill and he was at the bottom behind some trees. When I saw him I knew it was all over for me. Now it wasn't like I was weaving in and out of traffic or being a hazard. I was just doin' my thing. I'm like the Wolf from Pulp Fiction. I drive fast.;)

This is a 3-figure ticket.:faint: Good thing I already preordered HP and the Deathly Hallows.:D

Good morning, MU.

Thanks, man. Same thing here regarding the 15mph over the limit. And wouldn't you know? I was going 15mph over the limit.:quizzical: However, the officer was actually decent. And although 15mph over was too much to overlook, he did write the ticket for a lesser speed.:relief::pray: Still gonna cost me over a hundo. Fortunately, I don't have to attend dumb-dumb school.:D

So instead of that $300 dinner you were going to buy me....you should just paypal me that $$$ and pick up a Big Mac or go crazy on the $1 menu at McDonalds. It will greatly help my "Seananigans fund". Thanks in advance...I know you understand ;).

:lolcry: So you're saying how much you love Steve and everything he's done for the USC organization?:p

Good to hear the HT is rockin' with the upgrades! I enjoyed Tangled. Haven't seen Easy-A yet.

Wabo really sorry to hear about your run in with the law. Well at least now the teachers in your school district will not have to take another furlough day. :p :D Or mabe the K9 unit will get that new collar he has been pining for.

BTW It will propably be home made pizza tonight since the storm that was near you yesterday is suppose to hit around 7:00 PM tonight. So I will need to pay attention what all of you guy's BBQ menus will be and select from the list for Saturday's evening que. :)

ldgibson76 04-15-2011 04:39 PM

Let's talk about something positive,... like me selling out and buying "The Incredibles" blu-ray combo set.:unimpressed: This is after my rant about the Disney forcing the consumer to buy the DVD when most fans of the movie already have it on DVD! Well Jeff, I followed your instructions and was able to print out my $10.00 coupon and apply it to the purchase. $14.99!
I'm a happy camper now.

I'm a fan of the homemade pizza. Throw in a movie and you're golden:thumbsup:

It's cold and windy here. We may even get snow tomorrow. You can have that storm too. Here's a little something to get your grilling juices fired up.
[Show spoiler]

Caribbean Baby Back Ribs with Guava Glaze

http://c501809.r9.cf2.rackcdn.com/260x260-1.jpg

Rub
1tablespoon kosher salt
2teaspoons dried oregano
1/2teaspoon garlic powder
1/2teaspoon onion powder
1/2teaspoon ground black pepper
2racks baby back ribs, each 2 to 2-1/2 pounds

Glaze
1cup guava jelly or apricot preserves
1/2cup plus 1 tablespoon ketchup
3tablespoons unsalted butter
3scallions (white and light green parts only), minced
1tablespoon peeled, grated fresh ginger
1-1/2teaspoons seeded and minced habanero chile pepper or 2 teaspoons minced jalapeņo chile pepper
1large garlic clove, grated
Prepare the grill for indirect cooking over low heat (250° to 300°F).

In a small bowl mix the rub ingredients.

Remove the membrane from the back of each rack of ribs. Season the ribs all over with the rub, putting more of it on the meaty sides than the bone sides. Arrange the ribs in a rib rack, all facing the same direction. Allow the ribs to stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling. Meanwhile, make the glaze.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix the glaze ingredients.

Brush the cooking grates clean. Place the ribs over indirect low heat, as far from the heat as possible, with the bone sides facing toward the heat. Close the lid. After 3 hours, check to see if any rack is ready to come off the grill. They are done when the meat has shrunk back from most of the bones by 1/2 inch or more. When you lift a rack by picking up one end with tongs, the rack should bend in the middle and the meat should tear easily. If the meat does not tear easily, continue cooking for up to 4 hours.

Remove the ribs from the rib rack and transfer to a sheet pan. Lightly brush the ribs on both sides with the glaze. Lay the ribs flat on the cooking grate, with one rack at a time over direct heat. Grill them, with the lid closed as much as possible, until the ribs are a little crispy on the surface, 10 to 15 minutes, brushing them, turning them, and swapping their positions occasionally. Return the ribs to the sheet pan, give them one last coating of glaze, and cover with foil to keep warm for as long as 15 minutes. Cut the racks between the bones and serve right away.

You know what's sickening about collecting blus? The fact that there is still at least 80 movies (and that's on the conservative side) that I still have to get. Well I don't have to, I want to.:o But there are catalogue titles that are missing from my collection that in most circles (true collectors like yourself and many others on this site), would be considered criminal for not having. Even in a best case scenario at $10 a pop (wishful thinking), we're still talking $800.00! And let's not forget to add in the upcoming releases of new movies, the expenditure is ongoing!:( I know it's a part of the hobby. I just do not want a repeat of what I did when I purchased DVD's. At one time, I had over 1000 DVD's! Half of them were blind buys. 1/3 were easily movies the after one view were recipients of the "Never will view ever again award"!

Luckily thus far, I have been more selective about the movies I choose. I would say all of the titles in my collection has been or will be viewed more than once. "The Fall" and the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" will most likely never be seen again.

"The Fall" was a real disappointment.

http://images2.blu-ray.com/movies/covers/1010_large.jpg

It came out when those mind twisting, dark fantasy movies where in abundance,... Pans Labyrinth, Mirror Mask, The Spiderwyck Chronicles, Ink Heart, The Bridge to Terabithia, etc,.... I really thought it was going to be interesting. The cinematography was impressive, but the story just didn't work for me. Have you seen the movie?

Sorry to hear about your gov't donation. Never seen a police officer pull anyone over here. Can drive as you wish, police only get involved after an accident. If they started pulling over people for speeding they'd never have time for anything else. Here, the right away goes to the biggest or more aggressive vehicle, pedestrians don't even rate.

It is indeed snowing here. It's actually a rain/snow mixture. I'll tell you why it's raining/snowing. Because I got a carwash today. Yep, without fail. All any drought plagued country needs is for me to wash my car there. Rain will fall within a matter of minutes.

What's up, Lawrence?

I hear ya. I don't have a lot of movies that are considered "must haves" in my collection either. My collection pales in comparison to others. Hell, I haven't even broken the 200 mark. It's easy to forget how much we have invested in the movies themselves. If you're like me, I'll buy a title one week, maybe two titles the next and some weeks nothing. So over time it's really adding up, but it's so spread out, it doesn't seem like much.

Never seen The Fall. I vaguely remember seeing commercials for it. But it was quickly forgotten.:D

Thinking about it, the reason my blu collection is so small, I only buy movies I know I want to watch again. Which is mainly action/adventure, sci-fi and comedy. Or of course kids movies, which I enjoy just as much. I can tell you this, The Notebook is not nor ever will be in my collection.:p

Taxes are very low. No sales tax. Problem is here consumer goods are generally expensive. Almost everything is imported. No more "Made in Taiwan" now it is China. Also have about the population of Canada crammed into an island half the size of Nova Scotia, and the center of the island is mostly mountains and no one lives there. A bit crowded.

Life is comfortable here, why I have been here for 12 years. I don't work too hard and I can keep myself and my wife happy so it's all good. Sure I'd like to have a lot more disposable income, but who wouldn't.

Darn you, you wash your car and everybody in the USA gets rained on. Stop that! :talktothehand:

The dog is a he and his name is (my wife gave him his name) Shelby GT Mustang. And the name sort of fits, he has two speeds stopped and full speed. He is the third Rat Terrier that we have owned over the years.

I like the dogs name, and the car. Let me guess, you and your wife both drive the Shelby GTs? Lol. Those Rat Terriers are little packages of pure energy. Keeps ya on your toes.

Have a great rest of the evening. I'm about ready to fire up the ol' DVR and watch the new Burn Notice movie. The fall of Sam Axe.

All the reviews I've read say Scream 4 is awesome. I May have to check this one out too.

We awoke to snow on the ground today. So I thought it's time to head somewhere warm. So I took my kids to Rio... in 3D.;)

Have a great weekend!

Was Rio any good?

I haven't even hooked the new player up yet. The system is completely down, that is,.... unplugged and devices and components pulled from the racks. But I did watch Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader on my secondary system using my old trusty Samsung BD-P1200. Surprisingly, it played without issue.

Hopefully, I will be able to procure a new Rotel multi-channel amp this week. I don't see this project being completed until the end of the month. It will be worth it though.
BTW, how's the little angel doing?! And how are you doing?!
