It would give little reason to continue watching and to continue to care about Lisbeth.

Warning, don't click on the spoilers unless you've seen the 1st AND 2nd.
[Show spoiler]In the first you know she lit a guy on fire, and she was in a mental hospital. You don't know who she lit on fire or why. In the 2nd you find out who she lit on fire, and part of the reason why she was put in the mental hospital.

Now, admittedly, she is still somewhat of a mystery, but not as much as the 1st. In the 2nd I felt I got a better understanding of why she is how she is.

Gotcha, sorry for the confusion. After three books she's still a mystery, but I agree that you do have a better feel for her after the second book/movie for sure.

I did like how in "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" she's almost a complete mystery. But it's the natural progression, I'd find it odd if she remained that way for all 3.

Speaking of which, the girl at the theater said the 3rd was coming out in the fall, October-ish.

If you want to see The Girl Who Played With Fire and live near Dedham, MA I'd suggest Dedham Community Theatre. It was the best experience I've had. Not because of the quality, I don't think they even had surround speakers, and the screen wasn't perfect. But because it was full of old people, and old people are silent. No annoying kids texting, chatting, yelling at the screen. There was only 3 people under 40 (plus me).

Not always the case my friend. I've had to tell 70 and 80 year old couples to be quiet many, many times.
Once was during the first 15 minutes of There Will Be Blood.
Wife: "This music makes it seem like something bad is gonna happen."
Husband: "uh-huh"
Wife: "What's he digging for?"
Husband: "Gold? I think he's digging for Gold."
Just then the movie reveals the bubbling crude coming from the bottom of the well.
Me: "The movie has all your answers if you're willing to wait for them."

I would watch out for that. I see the audio and subtitles aren't listed. It might not have english subtitles. I think that one might be french canadian only.

I remember looking for different imports of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" for lossless audio, but all were region locked or no english subtitles, or no lossless.

But if it has english subs, and is a good transfer, I'll be ordering it. That release would be before it comes to american theaters. I'm finding myself to be impatient when it comes to this series. :D

Lol. Yeah, people like that exist regardless of age. I got lucky. Only 20 people were there, and the only one who botherered me was the youngest one there. She checked her cell phone, only once though. But where the hell do people get this ego from? To think if they miss a call or text for 2 hours the world will fall apart? Yes, the worlds fate is held in the hand of teenagers apparently...

Does the Brazilian version have HD audio? I am thinking that it does but I don't remember for sure. I know the Australian version has HD audio also. Trying to decide which to put on the wish list.

You think extended cuts improve the movie?

I haven't seen the extended cuts yet, but at the very least, I can't help but think that an extended cut of the third movie would be an improvement. The theatrical version is barely comprehensible, and probably only that because I'd already read the book.
