I think it was taken from this clip, it does sound similar...

Not sure where people are really seeing this "Green", it looks pretty much the same on my screen. Almost pure white.

It's certanly not Blue like it is in Empire Strikes Back. But the color is certainly closer to the original coloring than the DVD.

It's not any closer except in the last shot of my video

I rewatched mine and YouTube all but ruined it. Download the full 720 blu-ray rip... It's GREEN!

Jumpman 08-30-2011 10:47 PM

nmycon,

Those comparisons are so close, it's not worth even mentioning, honestly.

If so, why did you feel the need to color the saber in your avatar actually green... to make it look that way. ;)

The two comparisons look pretty much the same. Pure white with a slight color tinge around the edge of the blade.

YouTube ruined the video... I may as well take it down and post a link on Megaupload or something like that...

That's like saying my nose is closer to my feet than my eyes. It's true, but they're both still far and the difference is negligible.

Yeah, on my screen I'm not seeing any green. There's a slight tinge of color... but not "green" green.

I prefer most of the changes. Or can go one way or the other on some of the others. But that's the only one I don't particularly like.

Doesn't ruin the movie for me. Since I love the films, warts and all. Even the original versions which had numerous glaring flaws.

Cool. I noticed that my question could've been taken as a jab(which it wasn't). It's hard to tell sometimes, when people are being serious or sarcastic on here.

I almost feel like keeping up with all of this stuff is going to ruin the surprise for me, when I finally get the blu-rays, but I can't stay away. :ohnoes:

Full-Res comparison:

1984 VHS

2011 Blu-Ray Rip

I was forced to use my 1984 tape (the most deteriorated of the many I own) because all of the other ones have some sort of copy protection, which prevents my DVD Recorder from recording them... the 1995 VHS is clearly blue, but the 1984 shot is so bright it's hard to see and looks different on a TV being played through a VCR

That's what she said! Sorry, couldn't resist.:p

Still looks the same to me. Almost pure white with a very slight tinge of very very very light blue color.

Neither of them are vibrant blue, which is obvious. And I wouldn't call either of them "Green" either.

Okay... I can appreciate the fact that the colour difference doesn't matter to you, but saying they both look the same is absurd.

I admit it's a minor issue, but it bothers me nonetheless.

On my screen there's no real difference. The shade of blue tinge is slightly different, but it doesn't read as green.

It's certainly not the green color seen on the last DVD release. And it's not the blue from ESB.

To those saying the lightsaber's glow is not green I present you with...Green. Direct captures using VLC Video Player.

I really hope the new Noooooooooooooo is a joke

42041 08-30-2011 11:13 PM

okay, dare I ask the question that's been bugging me for a long time: who cares if his saber is green

at this point, the idea of a very elaborate prank on the Star Wars obsessives is not something I'll rule out.

anomynous 08-30-2011 11:15 PM

Just heard the Obi Wan yell.

This can't be real.

CGHULK 08-30-2011 11:16 PM

George has lost it! This NO scene is a parody in itself!
