Do you really think that is a good way to promote that cause?

Digital sparks. Give. Me. A. Break.

I personally think that he does that to show that he's the boss now, not Gary Kurtz or anyone else.
He wants to add every little silly details he ever thought about, just because he can. He must think he's improving his movies...
I'm okay with that, nothing can stop him now, I just wish he did it the way Scott or Spielberg did it on Blade Runner or ET.
The more I read this thread, the more I want to cancel my pre-order, even if here in France, I had a very good price for it.
I hope he will release a complete set with all versions in it.
I even dream that when there will be no more physical media, you'll be able to choose the version you want to watch : the 1997's intro + the 2011's light sabers + the original Ewok song (I'm 32, I was a kid then and I love them ^^)...

There are sparks seen at one point in the scene but was it really necessary to add more? Were there actually people that complained about this "issue"?
Gotta love it...

Has ESB been color corrected? Does it still have the blue tinge from 04?

The lack of a PT leak still bothering anyone?

This still smacks of a cunning marketing ploy, leak a copy, get the fanboys whipped up (fanboys hate the PT, so only an OT leak will do), all the worlds news and media outlets broadcasting the release on the 16th of Star Wars on Blu ray for FREE and the masses run to the stores.

(I don't actually think this bit is true but....)and what if the leak was a deliberate pre-final copy. The guys on MF.com are reporting that the ISO files that have now gone up from the leak have been confirmed as NOT from the final release. The fanboys get whipped up again because ILM lied, they haven't changed every hair on chewbacca like they said, but then it turns out they haven't lied, the release is perfection, George appears on the Today programme and raises his right hand middle digit to camera and begins laughing. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That would be priceless. :D

I guess all will be revealed when we finally get our copies.

I don't know if anything has been changed in episode 2 or 3, I hope not, although I would have liked that non existant Qui gon Jinn scene in ROTS added in.

I just can believe how great this looks! Although I would have loved to see the "Legacy revealed" documentary included in the set it absolutely brilliant. Can wait for the 16th to come!

Nope. Because the people who are "done" with this set really don't care a bit about the PT...and that includes the people who leak these things.

It seems the only people who are still defending George are the same people that can't wait to see the PT.

Jumpman 09-02-2011 10:07 AM

You know, I'm very, very interested in the Episode III section of the Archives because, as anyone who has the Episode III DVD knows, they left a lot of behind the scenes footage on the table.

"Within A Minute" was an interesting documentary but it didn't measure up to the previous two documentaries on the Prequels. Plus, the featurettes were a tad lacking.

I'm very curious to see more behind the scenes footage of that film. That trailer hinted at more.

Kryptonic 09-02-2011 10:18 AM

Just finished the Kevin Smith interview on TMZ and...right on.

Forever Knight 09-02-2011 10:22 AM

I gotta be honest... I think everyone hating on what they haven't actually seen yet is pretty retarded.

This is how society works now. We have become so impatient and that we can't wait to have an opinion about everything that we actually form opinions before viewing the content. It's ridiculous. I reckon the vast majority of people won't mind the change when they finally purchase it...and you will. Don't lie to yourself. At some point, you'll break down and buy it.

Where can you see the MF guys talk about the isos not being the finals?

LOL, can always rely on Indy to take the quote out of context.

BIG assumption on the leakers as well. Why stop at the OT, why not release the bonus disc then as that is what most people are NOW interested in?

Controlled leak???

Jumpman 09-02-2011 10:29 AM

merlinpants,

Yeah, where did you see the ISO files comment? That's an interesting detail not being reported.

Well I read sometime, somewhere that record labels sometimes publish albums on P2P in low quality, for free marketing and to increase the value of the CD (which of course sounds a lot better). It is possible something like that is pulled of here. Sure hope so ;). There aren't that many changes reported so far, it isn't like the 2004 version (if only they got their priorities straight and finally fixed the lightsabers..)

Oh wel price dropped for my Amazon UK order so I think that "It is useless to resist" sums up my feelings ;)

Well, leaking before getting cinavia is a word from the scene. They indeed mentioned that these are not ripped from the discs.

and: Evidently these are not actual retail BD ISOs. These are NOT ripped from the discs. Actual BDs' have Cinavia protection which is missing here. Chinese must have leaked these before discs were burned.

But the scene already has the actual retail discs and they are working to broke the protection. Estimation is something like 2-3 weeks.

No idea what they are talking about, don't read anything into it, as I said, I didn't believe what I said to be true ;) Please DON'T start using this as false hope, it is likely they used the source file prior to burning discs. I am 100% confident the leaks are the finished product, lets not use this piece of information to start another 100 pages of pointless 'You don't know you haven't seen it yet' arguments. The comment I made (you know, caveated with I DON'T BELIEVE THIS TO BE TRUE) was in jest!!!
