I know for PC's with DVD players you can just use PowerDVD's capture icon or the Print Screen function (you have to paste the image into a Paint or Photoshop after that. I've always assumed it would be the same for Blu's. I don't we'd see so many threads with captures in if you have to by-pass DMR or other protections.

I found this on YouTube I'm surprised there haven't been similar changes to the Blu-ray maybe with less detail but the Jedi's visiions could have been enhanced a bit.

Doh! Stupid me...

Of course they would have begun filming around 1996-97 at the latest.

DNR gets rid of film grain, reducing detail.

Some studios heavily DNR films, then apply digital noise (that resembles film grain) to hide the fact that they removed most of the film's natural grain.

This doesn't work.

Firstly, do I right click the image or the ad?

Secondly, I've tried both, and there's no option to "View Image".

Using 'Firefox' right click on the image and then click on View Image.

That should do it.

Now if your are using another browser, then you will have to close the add by clicking on it's top right corner, and then closing the window of the second add under that one. The picture is buried under BOTH adds so you should then see it after closing them.

I've never taken screenshots of protected Blu-rays so I'm not sure. But when playing a DVD in Apple's DVD Player.app, while the built-in Mac OS X screen capture utilities are disabled, third-party software seem to be unaffected; perhaps you should just try third-party screen capture software for Windows?

Using I.Explorer, and yep that worked, thanks for the help chap, much appreciated:rock:. For anyone else having issues, it's the square symbol, not the x, that closes the annoying ad.

I just cancelled my pre-order from January.

The release of the Complete Saga is down to two stars on Amazon.

The Extended Editions of Lord of the Rings were announced not even a year after the theatricals came out and there wasn't even anything "wrong" with those movies.

I'll wait to see how this plays out. I'm not purchasing Star Wars twice.

It's easier to just kick your computer really hard when it doesn't do what you want.

I've always found this really amusing:

The cardboard cut outs in the original film! :D

DVDs are no problem, but with BDs, you have to defeat the protection to take screenshots. And I guess that's all we can say about that, here. I looked into it once, because neither TMT nor PowerDVD (which I use on my HTPC) will do screenshots. They did on old versions a long time ago, though.

You realize that not ALL of the films are coming out in 3D next year, right?

TPM will be 3D in theatres in February, so if there is a 3D blu-ray release, it's a fair bet that it will be out by the end of the year.

But they are scheduling one episode in 3D per year. So we won't see the OT until 2015, and ROTJ will finally be in 3D (hopefully) by 2017.

They aren't going to put the 3D films out on blu-ray before they hit theatres.

At best, we'll get an individual BD release per year, but I'm betting we'll have to wait till 2014 for the Prequel set and 2017 for the Complete and OT sets.

Huh, you know I actually never noticed that! The stormtrooper cutouts when the Emperor arrives in Jedi was very obvious to me though. Wonder how that looks on the bd.

The entire hanger (including the Stormtroopers) was a matte painting, wasn't it? I didn't find that particular scene as obvious as the ANH cutouts.

Wow I find that amusing that you actually care about the stupid star rating on amazon.com. It doesn't bother me that a bunch of idiots with no lives create many accounts to write the same review 20 times each. All you should be concerned about is if the PQ, the audio, and the supplemental features are fantastic and worthy of your blu ray player. My advice to you is that this is probably going to be the only release of Star Wars you see on blu ray you are going to get for a while, so don't hold your breath waiting for different releases.
