This lost footage includes rebel pilots who never made the final cut. Oddly, one of the female pilots did make it into the film, but was voiced over by a man. There is additional action featuring the Millenium Falcons support crew. Footage of General Madine as the rebel leader was shot just in case the puppet of Admiral Ackbar did not look convincing. [Show spoiler] |
Very cool.

..and in goes empire, c'mon:D
The good news, Hoth is white again ;) ..and the black triangle of doom that has caused outrage on the wampa's arm. Blinked and I missed it LOL. Seriously, too much hating about everything to do with this set turns out to be absolutely nothing unless you watch the whole film frame by frame. |
I might plunk down the extra $10 to get the free t-shirt at best buy, hopefully they will price match for me, also I could get the set for $83.99 at Barnes and noble plus my membership discount which be the cheapest and if I get lucky enough to get a coupon I could get the set for a great price. However I know this sounds childish and stupid but I am freakin annoyed that U.S. consumers get this set on a Friday when everyone gets this on the 12th, I don't like Friday release dates, they are pretty ****ing annoying release things on Tuesdays that way I get to watch it before the weekend hits. Lastly Star Wars is not Harry Potter it is a more popular American series, it would make more sense if Europe got Harry Potter earlier than us, as much as people hate to admit Harry Potter is just not nearly as popular here in the states than it is in Europe!

You know, I have been checking these boards for some time now searching for the only information that many people want: 1. How is the image? The answer seems to be good for the age on the original and very good on prequels, 2. How is the sound? I can imagine this answer. Finally (and really the thing that most people really want to know) 3. What has been changed or fixed? All we seem to know at this point is that Yoda is digital in TPM, the Ewoks blink, Obi-Wan sounds stupid, and Vader yells "no." I am surprised that there are not details of a full list of tweaks. I find it very troubling that at this late date there is not more information. I do not care to debate why so-and-so does not disappear, why Luke sees ghost Anakin, or such nonesense. I want to know how they look, sound, and have been modified. I am also not looking to debate why it is done or even if it should be done. To quote Dragnet, I want "just the facts."

http://www.millenniumfalcon.com/phpb...pic.php?t=9088 The website isn't responding right now, but they also have a full list of OT changes. Also see page 1 of this thread. |
wow, the see-through speeder cockpits are really obvious in HD. They tried to fix them in '97, but you can still see shadows and walker legs through them in places. Really obvious when wedge does a flyby at one point.
But do you know what, I like it, It shows these were from a time before all the CGI trickery and that this was the work of craftsmen at the top of their game, fixing problems that couldn't be fixed. It is what the OT should be, a good old fashioned look at films as they were in their time. |
Now that Lucas has replaced TPM puppet Yoda with the CGI version, who here thinks that one day he will do the same with the OT puppet? Maybe not completely but perhaps digitize the head/face to have the same level of articulation that he has in the PT? How would you feel about a change like that?
