Yeah, I remember when he released the '97 SE on DVD. Wait.... he didn't.

The only reason the LD encodes were tossed on bonus discs was to offer something extra to those who wanted individual releases of the films.
Hence why they were just grabbed those old encodes and just tossed in as a bonus.

Has ANYONE gotten their hands on the US set yet? I'd really like to see some packaging comparison pics to the UK packaging. I'd also like to know if one is more of a shelf hog than the other.

Why are you buying the US set, Shallow... the discs are byte for byte 100% identical to the Scandinavian set. Subtitles are the same etc... you really like the inconvenient US packaging that much? :D

My collection is 100% import, and will stay that way :)

My aim is 100% US collection, will upgrade all my .de/.fr/.ca versions as they are released.

Even if the discs are the same I would still know that it was not a US set. Thats just how I roll :D

Edit: you cant imagine how it pains me that my pixar lamp is from a uk set.. the horror..

This is completely off-topic, so apologies all, but DanzG, thanks for your sig. Not only do I completely agree with the sentiment, but I didn't know Andy had lost his battle with lymphoma. Too sad.

Sorry to intrude. Back to Star Wars !!

Yeah, I found out last night and have been down all night about it. He was an amazing actor. He really made Spartacus the hit show that it is, he will be greatly missed. :(

The US set is slimmer than the UK set. But that's about the only positive I can say about that set. Seeing the unboxing videos on youtube were people have to grab the disc on both sides or slide them around to get them out, makes me shiver...

That guy in un-boxing the U.S. version made me shiver as well. I never have been that careless about scrapping my disc with the Alien Anthology set and I never had a problem getting the disc out that some other people seem to have problems with but that guy was just yanking them out and scrapping the hell out of the bottom of the disc, it was just very un-nerving lol

I am a health nut, but I'll be ordering some pizza for this. I already told my wife that this upcoming weekend my son and I will be watching Star Wars....her response "but that should not take more than 1.5 hours, right?" Whatever needs to be done will be accomplished before or after :p.

HA! I just got done eating a can of the originals. I loved how the picture of the chip on the front of the can has it's own little Darth Vader Cape on although I was severely disappointed when I opened the can to find out that the chips were not actually wearing little capes. :(

Beast 09-12-2011 07:26 PM

Biggest disappointment of the Pringles Star Wars flavors? Where's Jar Jar Binks Dill Pickle? Or something along those lines.

Just tell her you'll be viewing the Complete Saga in less than 12 Parsecs. :D

US or UK Box-Set?

Does anyone here buy the US-Set? I prefer it over the other editions because the images are integrated in the book-design of the set and it just looks more valuable to me. I have ordered the US-Set from germany.
