Got the shipping email but when I try to track it doesn't show any orders.

How long ago did you pre-order?

Amazon is epic about not showing shipping info on long ago pre-orders. Just use the tracking info that came in that e-mail.

Lucas never held Boba Fett in the same esteem as the fans but the way he killed him off was really lame.
[Show spoiler]But in the EU books, he lives!

Don't trust amazon, I got online and checked my account on amazon to see shipping soon and thought "what?" I had just ordered it the day before and since I asked for free shipping expected it sometime next week. Not 10 minutes later there was a knock on the door and there it was, a full day early.

I plan to be at my local Fry's out here in Southern California when they open. If they don't have it setup at that time, then Best Buy gets my business when they open a little later. Then I go to work and suffer and perhaps drool at the box on my desk until I get to go home.

original trilogy pre-CGI

The Criterion Collection could release the original trilogy as they were before the "updates". They could be billed as culturally significant, damn good movies, representative of an era or however they want to market them. Include a copy of the original 14 page draft that mapped out the whole epic story and the nowhere to be found documentary "empire of dreams". It's a nice pipe dream, anyway...

I wish them good luck getting the rights...

The story told in the PT could've been done in one film. The stuff with Jake should have been 20 minutes tops. Move on to 19-yr old Anakin for 30 min or so. Keep about 120 min of ROTS. Now, you got a solid prequel film.

Yeah, something like that. I mean, the young Anakin stuff should have been like a preface to the first movie, kind of like how X-Men first class had a short first section with young Charles and Raven "Mystique" and then quickly moved on to a young adult Charles.

Ep. I should have gone something like this:
Qui-Gon and Obiwan find you Anakin on Tatooine after their Trade Federation ordeal, and then do a quick flash forward to his training as a teenager. At this time, Palps is already Chancellor and has detected Anakin's power with the Force. Calls on Darth Maul to acquire him to go to the Dark Side.

Ep. II would be somewhat similar to the actual movie, but cut out all the cheesy Padme stuff, and go right into the building of the Clone Army due to the apparent rise of the Sith backed by Trade Federation. Clone War starts.

Then most of Ep. III would be the Clone Wars...with Darth Maul turning Anakin to Dark Side and then fighting Obiwan.

I could NEVER see anyone getting any rights to SW so long as Lucas is around. I want my UOT as much as the rest of the world, but I just can never see this happening. It goes against every behavior he has displayed thus far.

I won't argue that. :D

The phantom kick...lol

Outside of the Luke/Vader/Emperor scenes and the space battle, there's not much else I ever liked about ROTJ.

I watched the UOT version again the other night. This time, I had Phil Tippett's comments in mind. He mentioned hearing George Lucas telling Richard Marquand that the film would be a cross between ESB and Benji. You know, I think I see it. ;)

If so, I'll be going to the Walmart next door.

Does anyone know how big the Boba Fett poster from Walmart is, or how big the 8 lithographs from Target are? I'm going to get one of these in a few hours, and I'm not sure which one is the coolest deal. :)

I kinda agree, but I think two films (maybe 1h 45m each) could have done the trick. Then he could have just renumbered the OT as 3,4, and 5.

This is why you never turn your back-story into story. You start in medias res and go from there. All the back-story that you write that doesn't make it into the final cut was so you could make sense of your characters and story for yourself. It was never meant for the audience.

That's why the prequels were overbloated. Lucas was making his back-story into three films, when there was only enough there for a couple of smaller ones. But he set rules for himself (9 films broken into three trilogies) and for some reason refused to break them.

Setting rules is one of the worst things an artist can do to themselves. You're supposed to be breaking through the restrictions imposed on you by others and the medium you create in, not conforming to a bunch of limits you impose on yourself.

.

That's correct and it's even in their sales ad for this week as such.
I had to actually go in to confirm that the PT will also be $29.99 in store.

Best Price Around is $39.99 for Pre or Seq. ... for the Sega $80 for entire thing at Best Buy or WalMart.

I plan on getting mine Tomorrow at best buy.

Don't know where you heard this but the national sales circular says different. Just a heads up so you can save some money.:)

I had a follow up post and went by the email and ONTRAC has the info.

I think it said I preordered in April.
