Yeah, it did! Glad you liked it! I actually spent several hours on it. I considered just throwing together a quick and dirty photoshop job just for a silly internet forum gag, but I decided instead to try to make it look as realistic as possible. It took a long time but it was worth it.

I will not be purchasing anything in 3D even Star Wars. And since I hope to be upgrading my TV soon, I just want them in Blu-ray and I will be done with it.

A lot of sniveling going on in this thread. I may need to order a violin.

And? It doesn't change the fact that he was unhappy with the finished product.

And has every right as the creator and owner to bring them in line with his vision.

Just like he has every right to not want to waste time and resources on obsolete versions.

Well played. *Claps* :D

You forgot the typical whine that "Lucas raped my childhood". That one always kills me. ;)

You should really start capitalizing that.

You know you want to.

Sith 09-30-2010 07:33 PM

I personally would rather have Lucas do another movie or three than spend
time going back and trying to restore the originals.

He should just picked one of the best books, or book series and do it.

Some of the book in my opinion are as good or better than the movies.

ALL HAIL THE CREATOR!!!!!!

Which doesn't change the fact that millions of people were delirious happy with the finished product and George built an empire with the money he earned making those people happy.

Every filmmaker makes compromises to his or her original vision in order to deliver a finished product. It's a mark of maturity to accept those compromises and move on. Lucas has never moved on.

GOOD, yes yes yes... PLEASE somehow make them sooner and release to the public, i've waited for this for a while now :) this will definitely be a must-buy for me!! 100%

It's also a mark of maturity not to complain excessively about something you have no control over and just either except it the way it is or choose not to buy it.

Millions of people also don't care about the additions to the movie cause it's still Star Wars and there still considered by most the benchmark standard for sci-fi movies.

1+ although I'd never call SW Si-Fi. It's pure fantasy to me. :)

Yup you'd think someone with a username like Sith would realize these aren't sci-fi. Come on, pulling for a Summer 2011 release so I have something to watch while I wait for the 2011-2012 NFL season!

Please let me know how modern day CGI is superior to anything that has come before us. We should stop watching anything that came out before today and wait until it has been redone with CGI that meets Beasts standards.;)

I say they remake Casablanca in CGI with more explosion, in color and 3D with Ashton Kutcher in the role of Rick and Megan Fox as Ilsa. Now that would be something worth having in my collection :p

But to be serious, some of the complaints made by fans on the Internet as reach a all time ridiculous. Serious, look at what all of them complaint. Too much CGI, too much FX, not enough FX, no slipcovers I don't buy, I saw it movie was crap, audio is bad, the transfer for picture is horrible.....blah blah blah blah......Fans on Internet forum have made it that no one can take them seriously nor would they care about it. It's complaint and complaint and more complaint all the time. You cannot expect any serious business person in Hollywood to give a care about what fans want because in reality fans do not even know what they want. I promise you, Lucas give's a restauration of the original 3 movies on Blu-ray, no special editions...just the originals as what it seem the entire planet wants (according to some even if sales seem to say otherwise) and the day of the release every forum on the net will be overloaded with complaint about how they mess this scene at 1 hour 45 minutes or how the contrast does not match what it was back in 1977 in theaters, never mind that most of them where not even alive to remember seeing it. At the end of the day, no matter what happen's they will not be happy.

While they're at it, can they remake the Godfather films and make them good?

Add in the majority of Stanley Kubrick and Quentin Tarantino's work as well. That would be a good start.

The really weird fans with no self awareness are my favorite!

I love plenty of films without CGI. You can even look at my collection and see that.

However, as a lifelong Star Wars fan...... I prefer the newer versions of all of the films.

They correct a lot of serious technical problems, and in the case of ANH greatly improves the movie.

Agree to disagree. George is a great storyteller no matter what, he doesn't need to keep updating it to prove it to anyone of us.

Bring on the blus!
