I just want the deleted or extended scenes to be in HD to see what we've been missing. I'm not sure what quality the Luke, Biggs and Camie scenes on Tatooine is I've only seen rough B&W so it would be great to have these in HD. |

Gosh, I am so eager to watch SW again!!!! These are the films I will revisit the most! I will NOT watch them on DVD ever again! Star Wars has to be seen in 1080p with glorious lossless audio! Can you imagine what it will be like!?!?!?!?!? The only thing I am kind of sad about, despite that I don't care what other people think, is that the PT will probably get very low scores for the movies, which is just unfair, because they are so much better than pretty much any other blockbuster coming out of Hollywood. But few people can stay objective when it comes to SW. I, for one, am getting the set DAY ONE, and for the first time ever, I am choosing Priority International Courier, as I live in Europe, and it normally takes from 1 week to month for BDs to arrive from Amazon.com using the Standard Shipping Method. An amount of time I am not willing to wait for SW! :D I have once again watched the ILM doc. "ILM-Creating the Impossible" for the 3rd time already. The Prequels really pushed VFX movies to a WHOLE new level! |

I couldnīt agree more on the whole level! I only hope the US Blu-Rays will be region-free. |

TPM 2.5 or 3/5 AotC 2.5/5 RotS 3.5 or 4/5 ANH 5/5 ESB 5/5 RotJ 4.5/5 Personally I like TPM and RotS better than RotJ (I would argue they are superior films actually) but for most people that is not the case. And yeah they are definitely better than a decent portion of blockbusters coming out today. There really hasn't been a great 'true' blockbuster in a while. The best ones have really been more like dramas with action. |
Hey, I just found this hour long interview with George Lucas from 2004.
You might wanna check it out: http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/1094 |
As far as extras goes I hope all of the documentaries from the past dvd and vhs releases are included in the blu-ray box set as well as new ones. Like the making of star wars , spfx the making of the empire strikes back , classic creatures the making of return of the jedi , from star wars to jedi the making of a saga those where on vhs and from the dvd releases The Beginning the making of episode 1 , From Puppets to Pixels: Digital Characters in Episode II , State of the Art: The Previsualization of Episode II , Films Are Not Released; They Escape sound documentary , Empire Of Dreams The Making Of The Star Wars Trilogy, and Within a Minute documentary about the making of the Mustafar battle in Episode III. Plus their should be new documentaries as well created for the blu-ray box set.

Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if the films got alright reviews considering how anticipated this release is. |

Lucas is not getting one more dime from me, that penny-pinching old coot. I feel like I should be inserting money into a slot in the floor every time I buy something Star Wars related. Just bend over and take it right then and there. Screw that.
I'll just wait for one of my friends to buy them and borrow them. :D |

ESB ANH ROTS ROTJ TPM AOTC The top three are interchangeable depending what I'm in the mood for. |
Since we're at the rating game once again (and I seriously hope this is not going to turn in another Prequel/OT bashfest) :p
ROTS/ESB (ESB is stronger overall, but ROTS has several moments which I found really touching. Plus there was finally some good acting (though McDiarmid screwed up after Anakin turned by making Palpatine another generic cackling evil mastermind). ANH. First SW film I saw (some old VHS I apparently once found when I was about 7 in a store, then I was sold :p. Unaltered by the way, and I still prefer the SE editions). AOTC. Bad acting? Probably. But I can easily overlook things like that when there is enough scenery to enjoy (maybe a tip for some around here ;)). It easily has some of the best action sequences, Jango Fett, and it was darker in tone. ROTJ. I take bad acting over small teddy bears beating a technologically way more advanced army of the Empire's finest. Yes I know the point was that technology doesn't mean you automatically win but it didn't have to be the Ewoks :p TPM: Sorry, Jar Jar and Anakin aren't easily ignored. Especially Jar Jar is just tiresome. The film did have it's moments though (Otah Gunga, the underwater Bongo scenes, Pod Race, the duel) and as I usually watch all the films chronologically, I never skip this one. |
I like all 6 star wars films as a complete saga. Do the prequels have their faults yes but that does'nt detract the enjoyment of the flims for me. Empire Stries Back , A New Hope and Revenge Of The Sith are the best films of the saga but for me all of them are enjoyable.

It's just sad, because the PT is so much better than what people think. Quote:
I know many movies that are technically well made, such as the Godfather, the Prestige,...., but they simply aren't my kind of movie. FACT of the matter is that the Prequels are much better than people will admit. They desperately try to tear them apart (see RedLetterIdiots), when that could be done to pretty much ANY movie out there, but especially in the fantasy/action/sci-fi genre. People see what they want to see. I am not saying they are perfect, but they are still mighty fine movies, and to me, they are about a billion times better than Avatar, TDK, or Inception. Anyway, I don't have to defend them, because either you like them or you don't. Think of IJ and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! It got 1 1/2 stars for the movie on Highdefdigest! It's a very decent movie, if you look at it more or less objectively, and if you HONESTLY compare them to the other IJ movies. http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/1715...stalskull.html |

I lend a friend my ep1 and ep2 and I never got them back. :(
I was so stupid...So i've had to watch episode 1 on VHS. lol. star wars saga on bluray...this will be a day long remembered! does anyone have any real news on them? I go to starwars.com all the time..they usually reveal the specifics first. I do really, really wish they fix the special editions...specially a new hope..the jabba looks horrible. And some shots are outdated now. And take out the Jabba singers/dancers scene too..put in the luke biggs in ANH again! |

I actually never cared what others said about the PT. I got into tons of arguments with fanboys..because the hate was rampant after episode 1. To this day, I still don't care. I like them and the clone wars...others still argue that they suck or whatever..they are just ignorant and haven't done their research...they are too complicated for them..people still don't know who's the phantom menace...clue..it's Anakin. |
Quote:
Also I love the PT. Granted I see it as more of a back story to Star Wars, but all 6 or the movies have there flaws and strenghts. But ESB is my favorite. |
