Just heard some STAR WARS tunes performed live in Vienna!

Hi everyone!

I have just come back from the Summer Night Concert 2010 in Schoenbrunn-Vienna-Austria!

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performed music from John Williams over Lisz to Strauss.

It started with The Star Wars Main Title Theme, which was great!

They also played Princess Leia's Theme (the one from Tr.1 CD 2 of the Special Edition Soundtrack).

The best was The Imperial March with a fantastic light show!

The setting was simply spectacular, and there were thousands of people from all over the world. There will be a BD release of this concert in the near future for those interested.

I spotted several die hard SW fanboys, and everybody went crazy when The Imperial March Theme played.

I wish they'd also include the "SW-A Musical Journey" Blu-ray in the BD set.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if they gave us that on BD before the live action movies hit BD in 2011, presumably??? :ohnoes:

I can't believe it will be another year and four months. :(

Anyway, George Lucas also used to say he wouldn't release SW on DVD, then not before the whole Saga is finished, but then he released them anyway, so there is hope we will get them on BD sometime soon now!??!?!?

I know I am being terribly optimistic here, but one can dream, right!? ;):):p

I simply wanted to share this superb experience with you. :)

Oh, I can't believe AOTC has the fewest votes. I should have voted for that then!

Wow, I wish that I could have seen that.

I would do anything to have them release some Star Wars concerts BDs.

And for this ultimate set, I think that it would be absolutely awesome if they included a musical score only track with a John Williams commentary to go along with it.

What I really wanna see is the rest of the unfinished and deleted scenes polished up and put back into the movie, also it would not hurt to maybe finish those light saber effects to match the other movies. Since there is little to no hope the theatricals will ever get this kinda of restoration and treatment and you know Lucas will tinker some more with the films why not go the distance and fix everything that has been left untouched?

Before giving us finished deleted scenes I'd rather have him enhance the entire Saga with the latest visual effects.

The PT only needs some very few minor shots changed, but the OT still needs quite a bit of work done.

Let the flaming begin! :ohnoes::p:D

i also dont find carrie fisher attractive... but that was ok because it made the movies less boner oriented.

i think natalie portman is hot..yes she has that young girl look but shes all grown up..

Wow I was really hoping there was some talk about the Star Wars Box Set, instead I see talks about the most attractive actress in comparison to whoever played Princess Leia.

I do hope they put the box set in a really super nice case because that will be even more reason to pick this up ASAP.

There's a rumor floating around that GL is going to change Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers in ROTJ to entice new teens and non-Star Wars fans to purchase the blu-ray release.

Even if Mr Lucas did decide to include the original theatrical versions of the OT, where would there be the need? Because most who want the original versions, only want the original versions, nothing else, and so they'd be paying for a box set with various different versions of films that they don't want.

You also need to keep in mind that many don't actually care what version is included, because it's Star Wars and it's what they like. It only appears to be the majority striving for the originals because of forums like these, where they spread their annoyance, whilst everyone else just enjoys what they have.:)

so true perfect example is BladeRunner With 4 or 5 versions of the film. Why?

Sith 06-09-2010 07:24 PM

Just a thought, but maybe we should wait till there is ANY word on what we're going to get and when before we start blasting Lucas.

Personally, I could care less what version of it it is, I just want the blu rays in my collection. It would be nice to get the OT, but it'll be nice to get whatever Lucas releases as long as the quality is as good as I suspect it will be.
