The FREYMAX 3D Projection Theater
Hello to all my fellow Home Theater devotees! Just getting started here on the Blu-ray.com forum, but have been working on the Frey Theater for the last 4 years or so. I have a dedicated 5.3 Movie theater room in the basement of my house, which I have been slowly evolving with many do-it-yourself features. The theater features a 120" projection screen, 1080p projector and Bluray player, and about 5000 watts of total audio power. :p
I host regularly scheduled Monthly Movie Nights in my theater for family and friends, with seating for up to 10 guests, and I also maintain the Frey Theater Website so anyone planning to attend can check on the next Movie Night showing at my theater: http://freytheater.com My current equipment list: Richvison 120" motorized white screen with RF remote Optoma HD 20 1080p projector Front Mains: Vintage Cerwin Vega 380SE 15" 3-way Center: Premier Audio dual 8" 3-way Rears: Vintage Infinity SM152 15" 3-ways .1: Custom-built Nuonic 15" 1000w powered Sub .2: Dual 18" Peavey Black Widow 2000w passive pro audio sub .3: Three Clark Transducers (butt shakers) under sofa seats, 175w each Processor: Parasound 7100 7.1 pre-pro BD Player: Oppo BDP-83 DVD Player: Pioneer Elite DV-46av All region and PAL mods Amp, Mains: QSC MX2000a THX certified Amp, Center/rears: Carver Premier 705 AV 5-channel amp Amp, Peavy Sub: QSC Powerlight PL218 Amp, Transducers: Crown Powerbase 1 Rane SM-26 setup as 6-channel line-level buffer Rane SM-26 setup as 3-channel splitter for the .3 LFE channels Behringer 2-channel compressor/Limiter for power limiting to transducers Directv H23 HD receiver Power Conditioner: Furman PL-Plus C Voltage Regulator/conditioner: Tripp Lite LCR2400 HTPC: AMD Athlon XP 2900 Tripp Lite 17" LCD/keyboard/trackpad rackmont slideout Digiview 5 to 1 HDMI switch box Please visit my Home Theater Gallery for more Frey Theater photos. Looks good. Welcome!

I missed this thread, nice to see you up and running now Frey. By posting, I will get your thread to the top and you'll see more activity, trust me.
Your room is very cool, and you already know I love the gear. I will have to try to make it over there for "movie night" when you start them up. There doesn't look to be a bad seat in the house! |
Welcome and nice setup!! John has a neighbor;)

Heheh, yeah, just park the Buggy out front and throw the horse over the fence some hay, before out'n the light in the barn, now wunst... :p
John, You'll have to PM me your home email address so I can add it to my Movie Night email distribution list, I send out a couple reminder emails to about 40 people, a week or two before the movie nights, so everyone knows whats coming up... |

Well, I need to take a few detail photos of my big 6-shelf oak A/V cabinet tonight (the one seen in my gallery pics) - now that I'm not using it anymore, I guess I will be posting it up for sale. I gotta get it out of the house, no room... Kinda hate to sell it, I put almost $400 into it just in materials alone, plus all the labor to build, stain, and poly it...

Congrats on the thread! Looking forward to talking about HT with you! Love your setup!

Thanks, Morrissey, should be lots of fun on here! I just can't post up too much from work, since I'm on a Homeland Security network, they may be watching!!

Awesome!
Congratulations on the fruits of your labor. Very inspirational. Can't wait to see it evolve. Wish I lived close enough for a movie night. Oh well. One good reason to travel to Pennsylvania, right?

Good morning.....I am usually on from about 5 AM until I leave work, which is around 5 PM. Night time for me equates to family time, unless I can get a few minutes to myself. But you know how that is with 2 little ones running around. By the time they go to bed, I wan to go to bed myself. Hopefully I'll catch you later today.

Awesome rig Frey!:D:rock:

Thanks for all the positive comments, guys... I'm really beginning to enjoy all this unadulterated attention to my theater, my head is starting to swell profusely, lol... jk! So, all you guys really appreciate my setup, but get this - I have a mailing list of almost 50 people I send reminder invite emails to, whenever I am hosting one of my Monthly Movie Nights, and yet most of the time it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to come except for maybe 4 or 5 people - most of whom are my regulars and rarely miss a show... I just don't know what I can do to get more people interested in coming, especially more than once. Sigh. |
Awesome theater man! :D
