Speaking of food - Man, I just have to tell SOMEONE about what my brother tried to pull on me tonight, you won't believe it - my jaw was just about dragging on the floor... :jawdrop:

He called me last night and ask me if I wanted to meet him and his wife at the local bar/restaurant for $3.75/dozen Wing Night after work today, I said "Well heck yes, of course!"... when we got there, he told me we had to order at least $30 on our bill, so he could use a coupon the bar had posted on it's website.

Well, I usually only order a single dozen wings and a glass of water or iced tea, cheap meal... but, to help out, I ordered two dozen wings, and a Sam Adams and a Molson Golden on tap. They ordered 4 dozen wings and some ice teas, and our bill was just over $30... so far so good.

SO, my portion of the bill was about $16 with tax and tip, and I gave it to him; then he pulled out the coupon, and I said "oh, I almost forgot about your coupon, how much is it for?"

"Half price. We've used these coupons 5 or 6 times here already."
"oh, cool. So, um, I gave you too much then, don't I get half off my meal too?"
"well, no, it's our coupon, we get the discount."

*:jawdrop: Stunned. Totally floored. Bites tongue, thinks to myself* "Say WHAT - Are you even SERIOUS??" I just gave him $16 towards a $15 bill, WTF!?!

I was going to wait until we got outside to raise a stink, but just then, the waitress came back out with the money and coupon and said to him "I'm sorry, but management just changed our policy a few weeks ago, you can no longer use the web coupon for any food that is on special."

He gets really mad. "What? We've used thes coupons here a half-dozen times before!"
I'm sorry, but management has changed the policy."

So, he grudgingly gets out his wallet (as I chuckle to myself - got what he deserved :giggle:) and pays the full amount, but only to the exact penny - no tip at all for the waitress. I said "well if you aren't giving any tip, give me MY $2 tip back." He did give me that back, at least. :unimpressed:

Holy Crap. Me and my GF just read that story out loud laughing our butts off as that is something that someone close to us would try. PRICELESS story.:D

I'm thinking just some nice big chunks of cheese cut from a block - big enough to really sink your teeth into - and maybe some Triscuits, Saltines or Ritz crackers to put them on:

OR, better yet, how 'bout with some thick slices of ring bologna...

I love cheese & crackers. There's not a better snack. I'm a fan of both the Triscuits and Ritz. Slice some thick sharp cheddar. Forgetaboutit. Add some ring bologna and you'll hear the angels sing.

That cracked me.:D Before I got to the end of the story I was like, he ate and drank for free, and made $1 in the process. Classic. Looks like he got his comeuppance.

And, don't forget to make some Sweet Bologna Roll-ups, with cream cheese and chives, to add to your meat and cheese tray! Mmmm...

HA, Hamilton - I figured someone ought to enjoy that story... And, as we were leaving the restaurant the waitress said to have a nice evening, and he shot back "We won't be coming back - you just lost a regular customer!" and stormed out.

SO, I guess I won't be eating any more wings with my brother there anytime soon... :p

Aerodude73 07-14-2011 05:26 AM

Interesting story. Next time you go out with them, just when you're almost Done your meal, say, "Damn, I forgot my phone in my car. I'm waiting on an important call from ______". Then just leave him to pay the bill. :rotfl: :lolcry:

When he calls you later, say you're really sorry, but it was an emergency at work & you had to go help them or whatever. :p :D

Good morning, Aero and Bz... Enjoyed the story, eh? Well, I just hope my brother doesn't ever find this thread, he might get mad at me, lol... ;) :D

I had even considered posting this story in it's own totally new thread in the General Chat area, but I guess I'll be nice and spare my brother THAT kind of embarrassment... :p

Has your brother tried that with you before? If not, how would you even know....he could have been pulling that stunt on you with so many other things for years.......and making a profit no less.....

FREYMAX 3D 07-14-2011 04:08 PM

Afternoon John! Well, if I found out he has done that other times, then I WOULD post the story up in it's own thread, so it'll eventually get a couple thousand responses, instead of just the few here in my own thread... Haha!

But, we don't go out to eat together much at all, so I doubt it.

Well, IMO, your brother completely wimped out by complaining to the waitress. She had nothing to say about the decision not to honor it. Your brothever doesn't seem to ask for management (who made the decision) and voice his opinion to them. Instead, he gets a bad attitude and gets short with the waitress, who he then doesn't tip (again, she had nothing to do with the decision) and then yells back at her a second time as he walks out the door (which is seen as pretty wimpy as well.) If he was that pissed off, he should have talked to the management, face to face, and not yell at the waitress, especially as he leaves the restaurant. Man up a little....

FREYMAX 3D 07-14-2011 06:13 PM

Yep. Agreed. I even told him it wasn't the waitress's fault for the policy change, but he's just bull-headed. And, he holds a grudge forever, so he'll NEVER go back to that restaurant ever again, I can guarrantee it.

He got pissed with someone at one of my Monthly Movie Nights back around Christmas time, so he got up and left - he's never come to another of my Movie Nights since, and he probably never will, just the way he is - totally unforgiving.

Nothing like burning what few bridges there are.....he may die a lonely man some day, and that is sad.

Waboman 07-14-2011 06:16 PM

All this talk sure has me craving some chicken wings right about now.

FREYMAX 3D 07-14-2011 06:19 PM

Haha, Waboo - last night I had myself a dozen Suicide wings with extra sauce, and a dozen garlic parmesian wings. I have some nasty bad breath today, fer sher...!

Hehe. That there is some good eatin'. A little Scope and you're money once again. I've never had the garlic parm wings before. Preferring the more tradition hot wings. How are they? I do love garlic. Plus it keeps the vampires away.:vampire:

Oh man, they are to die for... seriously! I am also a huge HOT wing fan, but the Garlic Parm are superb, and a nice change of pace - kinda tastes like eating those yummy bread sticks from the Olive Garden, only much more garlicy... and with meat!
