Wow, this gound is like concrete, I've been using a digging iron, my arms are sore, my shirt is soaked, I'm about ready to pass out, and I've got a long way to go yet to get deep enough... :faint:

Leveling sand and some of the blocks I may be using, just bought a few at Lowes to see if I can get away with these 12" gray blocks, or if I'll have to go with the larger 16" blocks that cost 3 times as much and only come in a Tan color...

Looks like alot work going on......know that feeling....:D

SeanMF 08-07-2011 07:59 PM

Looking good so far....when do you expect it to be completed?

FREYMAX 3D 08-07-2011 08:13 PM

Well, the shed is not supposed to be ready for delivery for another 2-3 weeks, so I have at least until then to get the wall up. The most time-consuming thing is digging the trench; then you just put an inch or two of leveling sand down and get the first course of block laid perfectly level. After that first course is in, the rest of the wall will go up in just a few hours, since there is no motar involved. A heavy-duty outside landscape adhesive is used to fix the row of cap stones on the top of the wall.

Haha - well, talk about overdoing it (and to really put HTG to shame! ;)) - after I worked outside in the humidity with a digging iron all day, and was totally wiped, I took a shower and then drove 2 hours to our monthly car club meet at the Sonic Drive-in in Allentown, PA... I ate a Blazin' BBQ sammich (no pics, sorry Wabo!), stood around socializing at the meet for two hours, and then we all went to see the 10PM showing of Rise of the Planet of the Apes at a nearby movie theater. Then, I drove another 2 hours home, without falling asleep at the wheel... finally got home at 2AM. :relief:

Don't even ask me what I feel like today... :dizzy2::faint:

:D

So, how do you feel today?:p

Digging the post holes is the worst. Do you guys have a frost line out there? Meaning the holes have to be X feet deep? Past the frost line.

You had quite an evening. A 4 hour round trip for your car club? Wha'cha driving? A McLaren F1.

I've never eaten at a Sonics before. Any good or similar to other fast food joints?

1. I am sore all over.

2. I'm not digging post holes, I'm digging a trench about 25 foot long, a foot wide, and 6" deep. the ground is all rock, shale, and clay, so the digging iron only penetrates about a half inch at a time... :faint:

3. No Formula 1... but close. Hahahahaha! Zoom Zoom! :p

4. Sonic basically sucks for food, I don't really care for it. But I will admit the Blazin' BBQ burger (one of those limited-time sammiches) I had was pretty good, and pretty hot - it has japaleno slices AND Habanero sauce on it...

And Diane Lane is still pretty hot, you just have a bad photo of her there - she looked great in Secretariat. She was really beautiful when she was young - Steve, have you seen "Streets of Fire" at all? She was smokin' in that movie!... Travis, you must be in your 20's or something, lol... ;)

36. Agree in the past, Diane Lane was hot. Hot in Secretariat? How old are you? In your 60's?:p

Wasn't Helen Mirren voted sexiest woman alive recently? You and Steve must have been happy.

Love the old Ape films; was looking forward to the new one. But after your thoughts on the movie and Old Lady Lane, which are the same as Steve's, I am not hopeful.:( :p:D :rotfl:

Did Travis pull this from His thread, as I didn't see it above (?). STREETS OF FIRE, prob., but not for a while & yes, she was/STILL IS "Smokin' Hott" IMO. Travis has no clue - he's jaded with all the lovely Asian honeys.
[Show spoiler]Though, I'd personally not mind seeing those lovelies myself day after day, after day, after day... :ohnoes:  :devil

Helen Mirren. Yum. Well, maybe a FEW Years ago... :D

Seriously - peruse the APES Review Thread & you'll see Many Many people with similar thoughts, how they thought it wouldn't be good, didn't think it would work, etc., and are ALL saying the exact opposite After seeing it. $54M estimated take for this wkend, about $18M More than anticipated.:whip:

Wait a second. I thought you hired a landscaper? He should be digging the trench while you wax your McLaren F1, sipping iced tea.

That pic must be the new McLaren super crossover code named Scion.;)

Thanks for the heads up on Sonic. I'll pass.

They are twisted, but it may be due to the Alzheimer's more than anything else.

Steve is so old his first girlfriend was the first girlfriend.

Troy is so old he dated her first.

Good morning Troy!:D

FREYMAX 3D 08-08-2011 01:54 PM

Wow, Bill, after all that flying around above, that's all you have to say today? :)

Hey, for her age, I think Helen Mirren is pretty damn good looking - AND she knows how to handle a 50 caliber machine gun and a sniper rifle pretty well in "Red", too... ;)

And, I'd marry Betty White in a heatbeat.... :p

That right there cracked me up. I can just see old man Frey and old man Aero fighting over Lucy. She's mine! No, she's mine!
