The theater features a 120" projection screen, 1080p projector and Bluray player, and about 5000 watts of total audio power. :p

I host regularly scheduled Monthly Movie Nights in my theater for family and friends, with seating for up to 10 guests, and I also maintain the Frey Theater Website so anyone planning to attend can check on the next Movie Night showing at my theater:

Looks good. Welcome!

I missed this thread, nice to see you up and running now Frey. By posting, I will get your thread to the top and you'll see more activity, trust me.

Your room is very cool, and you already know I love the gear. I will have to try to make it over there for "movie night" when you start them up. There doesn't look to be a bad seat in the house!

Welcome and nice setup!! John has a neighbor;)

Well, I need to take a few detail photos of my big 6-shelf oak A/V cabinet tonight (the one seen in my gallery pics) - now that I'm not using it anymore, I guess I will be posting it up for sale. I gotta get it out of the house, no room... Kinda hate to sell it, I put almost $400 into it just in materials alone, plus all the labor to build, stain, and poly it...

It is beautiful...if I had the space for it, I would be very interested!

Morrissey 08-11-2010 02:43 AM

Congrats on the thread! Looking forward to talking about HT with you! Love your setup!

FREYMAX 3D 08-11-2010 02:54 AM

Thanks, Morrissey, should be lots of fun on here! I just can't post up too much from work, since I'm on a Homeland Security network, they may be watching!!

Ray O. Blu 08-11-2010 04:08 AM

Awesome!

Congratulations on the fruits of your labor. Very inspirational. Can't wait to see it evolve. Wish I lived close enough for a movie night. Oh well. One good reason to travel to Pennsylvania, right?

Fors* 08-11-2010 09:56 AM

Good morning.....I am usually on from about 5 AM until I leave work, which is around 5 PM. Night time for me equates to family time, unless I can get a few minutes to myself. But you know how that is with 2 little ones running around. By the time they go to bed, I wan to go to bed myself. Hopefully I'll catch you later today.

Johnny Vinyl 08-11-2010 10:35 AM

Awesome rig Frey!:D:rock:

It's amazing what you can do when you're divorced, don't you think?! :p

Thanks for all the positive comments, guys... I'm really beginning to enjoy all this unadulterated attention to my theater, my head is starting to swell profusely, lol... jk!

So, all you guys really appreciate my setup, but get this - I have a mailing list of almost 50 people I send reminder invite emails to, whenever I am hosting one of my Monthly Movie Nights, and yet most of the time it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to come except for maybe 4 or 5 people - most of whom are my regulars and rarely miss a show... I just don't know what I can do to get more people interested in coming, especially more than once. Sigh.

progers13 08-11-2010 07:22 PM

Awesome theater man! :D

Is John on that list now? If you ever go to his house you may be tempted to get a couple SVS subs. :p

Yes I am now....and I am making plans to swing by his place this weekend to check everything out and probably watch a movie. I am not so sure Chris, his subs look pretty bad-a$$ to me! ;)

FREYMAX 3D 08-11-2010 07:27 PM

Hey, looks like my neighbor Fors* is going to come for his first visit to the Frey Theater already this weekend - I sure hope he enjoys it just a little... ;)

That's great John! Looks like you're in for a real treat.

I am not sure what I am more impressed with....the sub or what he has in that equipment rack, but I plan to check them out. I am sure the PQ and AQ will be awesome!

FREYMAX 3D 08-11-2010 07:37 PM

John's system probably sounds much more refined than mine - my system leans more towards power and feel, rather than refinement. I'm definitely not an uber-audiophile, by any means!

(Hmm, just trying to cover myself when John visits and is thoroughly disappointed in my setup...! :D)

I'm sure he won't be disappointed! It's an incredible setup to say the least!

ManUtd 08-11-2010 08:02 PM

Nice looking HT you got there.

I am curious to hear it....there may be an easy tweak or two we could discuss that could make a nice improvement (if need be.) I don't consider myself to be the expect I would like to be, but I have learned a ton thanks to this site. Did I mention I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night? :)

FREYMAX 3D 08-12-2010 12:16 AM

OK, Well, tonight I'm gonna start ripping out the two computer desks just to the right of my AV cabinet - you can see one of them in a couple of my cabinet pics in my gallery - it's time for them to go. These computer desks were for my two daughters, but I mounted the one PC in my rack and the other is no longer used, my older daughter has a netbook and a PS3 both connected to the internet wirelessly, so she never uses her PC anymore.

In this space I will be installing two DVD shelves, side by side. Together the shelf space will be 6 foot wide by 6 foot tall, 8 shelves in each. Each 3 foot wide shelf will hold about 70 bluray cases, or about 140 slim DVD cases, so 16 x 140 is 2240 DVD movies, or 1120 Blurays... that should tide me over for awhile!

So John, my theater room may be a bit messy when you get here this weekend...

No problem...in one way or another, all of our HT are in the process of upgrading and improving. Rarely does mine not change in some manner every month or two. It looks like Sunday afternoon should work out for me.....

Morrissey 08-12-2010 11:42 AM

Good morning Frey, Hope your day goes well today.

I also stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. That was hilarious John!

FREYMAX 3D 08-12-2010 01:22 PM

good morning all... got the girls' computer tables cleared off last night, and it looks like a friend of mine might take at least one of them off my hands... otherwise, they go out on the sidewak with a big FREE sign on them... Got a nice big open space now along the wall for my DVD shelves, Yay!

John, could you use a nice office-quality, small computer table at all, for free? Take it along home with you this weekend...! it's 36" wide, 26" deep, 26" height...

If you did put them out on the curb, I bet they would be gone in 15 minutes...people around here will take anything as long as it is free. I found this out when I got rid of some stuff when we had our basement refinished.

FREYMAX 3D 08-12-2010 03:03 PM

yup, I put a lot of stuff out on the curb, it usually goes within 2 hours max...

I bought three of these desks at a yard sale about 15 years ago, for i believe only $10 a piece, so I think I've gotten my money's worth out of them already...

FREYMAX 3D 08-12-2010 11:10 PM

Well, I'm back in the basement tonight, rearranging furniture to make room for my DVD shelves... gonna have to pull the big switch for a few minutes, so I can move my electric supply cable for my Network rack from one wall outlet to another, the cable currently runs along the wall where the shelves are going... seems like an awful lot of finnageling(?) just for some stupid shelves, lol...

FREYMAX 3D 08-13-2010 05:02 PM

OK, Space is all cleared, I emptied the existing shelf of all my DVDs and Blus, unbolted it from the wall where it was, moved and bolted it in the new space, and loaded it back up with my discs. I also hung another framed movie poster in the spot where the shelf had been. wow, just moving the existing shelf took me over two hours!

Gonna make my trip to Lowe's in Lebanon tonight after work to get the supplies for the second shelf, I'd like to get it assembled and mounted before fors* comes to visit on Sunday, if at all possible...

Troy, did you make any progress on moving the electric cable yet?

Fors* 08-13-2010 05:40 PM

Troy, what school district do your kids go to?

FREYMAX 3D 08-13-2010 05:42 PM

yeah, it was just a heavy-duty extention cord running to the wire rack I have all my computers and printers sitting on, with a thick, rubber-encased 3/4" cable, probably 10AWG, I just moved it to a different wall recepticle, so I had to down everything on my network first.

It was a lot more effort cleaning off the computer desks and moving the media shelf, lol!

OK, I posted that up in the other thread. They are in Hempfield School district, but they go to St Leo the Great Catholic School on Marietta Ave in Rohrerstown, next to St Leo's church...
