Not sure, that'll basically be up to him... lol, I think he said something about a few skin-flicks he picked up at a truck stop somewhere on his travels... :D

Hmm, well unfortunately, I don't have that movie in my collection - yet! We'll have to watch something else manly-like... :)

OK guys, not to worry, no hanky panky went on last night - my buddy never even showed... He most likely came home from work and fell asleep in his recliner, he does that a lot - being a furniture mover will do that to you...
I ended up having to resort to online porn and my Fleshlight... :D |

BTW good morning to you Troy:) |
Well, I borrowed a USB barcode scanner from work for the weekend, I'm entering all my DVDs and BDs into DVD Profiler. Sure beats manually typing in the numbers on the barcodes, or the full movie titles, like I was originally doing.. Got about 500 movies entered into the database so far, about 200 of those I did with the scanner in about a half-hour, so now I'm about halfway, maybe...
|
I'm up to 850 movies in the database today, I also posted up a couple more pics in my HT Gallery of my scanner setup at my computer desk. I still have about 4 shelves worth of TV series, box sets, and Concert DVDs to go, so I should be WELL over 1000 entries in the database by the end of the weekend, before I have to return the scanner to work on Monday. Whew! :whip:

:D |
yep, I've been wanting to do that for a long time, but I needed to wait until I got my media shelves done, so I had enough shelf space to reorganize all my discs the way I wanted them, once I scanned everything in.
I purchased a used HHP 3800 barcode scanner for a little over $30 on eBay the other day, it's just like the one I borrowed from work, but it won't get here for a week or so. It's an ugly beige color instead of black, and doesn't have a stand (i'll have to bid on one separately if I want that), but at least it's a brand name scanner made in the USA, rather than a cheap Chinese knockoff like they're selling new on eBay for about the same price... |

Well, I'm the reverse of your situation - I have about 75 Blu's and about 1000 DVDs, so I can't really add all those DVDs to my collection list on here... This list on here is strictly for my BDs. Heheh, at least my BDs are all originals... :D
|
Good morning Troy, I hope you are having a good weekend.
|
Good morning John, it is an ugly rainy day today - good day for a movie in the theater, lol! :p
I have about 30 DVD covers to print up for my slimline cases, that will probably keep me pretty busy today. And, my mother got a new VCR/DVR combo unit yesterday, her old VCR finally died, and wants me to come out to her place and hook it up for her today... |
Hi Troy,
It's looks like we could get some rain today too. Hope the rest of your day goes well and you can put your skills to work hooking up your mom's new player:D |
Well, it was a no-go on the VCR/DVR in my mother's bedroom - the model my mother bought didn't have a tuner built in (none of them probably do anymore) so the cable TV coax has to be connected directly to the TV, and then both input and output RCA cables from the VCR to the TV. Wired like that, the only way she could record her soap operas during the day would be to leave the TV on - if it is turned off or in standby, no cable signal gets to the VCR for it to record. I guess she'll be returning the VCR back to the store.

Awesome home theatre Troy! And your Frey Theatre website is a hoot! I was just wondering if you get a little nervous inviting strangers over each weekend. I have a Home Theatre set up myself and would love to share it with others but the idea of having someone over who I don't know...gives me pause.
|
Thanks for the compliments on my theater and website, Yojimbo!
I actually have never gotten contacted by a total stranger asking to come - only by people I had already invited via email or who were guests of one of my regulars. I guess I'll worry about that when it ever happens... Finished adding just about all my movies to my DVD Profiler Database - the count now stands at 1013, not counting about 100 or so concert DVDs I decided to hold off on entering for now. There's also probably about 15 or 20 movies upstairs yet in the DVD rack by the TV that should be entered yet, but most of them are probably kids movies, so I'll get to them some other time, too.. |
You've done a really great job with your HT room. I also had CV's. They were the 250SE series that I bought in 89 and kept them for 20 years and I really liked them. I liked them so much that I had them refurbished and gave them to a close friend to put in his closed veranda in his country home and he swears by them. I even hooked them up to my old Pioneer A/V (VSX-5700S). Those two still work great on old rock CD's from the 60's and 70's.
|
Hey Grif, Thanks! My 380SE actually perform quite well in an HT environment, I'm totally pleased with how they sound when playing a movie soundtrack, even though that audio is quite different from 1970's rock music...
My only worry with them is frying the mids or tweets, I already took out one tweeter and had to find a replacement on eBay for it. I did pick up 4 replacement Mids for these speakers, so I'm good there. The 380SE are rated at 400w continuous and 1000w peak, and I'm driving them with a QSC amp at 650w a side, so that is a fairly good match - as long as I don't max things out... |
Getting Psyched for the Re-release of AVATAR in the 3D Special Edition this coming weekend, I'm going to go see it in IMAX 3D in Reading, PA at least once or twice while it is playing in its limited run. 8+ minutes of extended footage, should be interesting to see what they add.
I've already seen Avatar 6 times in IMAX when the original version was in the theaters, then I picked up the Bluray and have shown that in the Frey Theater 7 times, to a total of almost 50 friends, relatives, and co-workers... but I'm sure I could stand to see it in IMAX 3D just a couple more times, lol... |
Quote:
Ah yes, "AVATAR" - I too will plan on going to see it this wk-end, but unfortunately, it'll Not be playing at the local (45 mins. away, in Prov., RI) IMAX Theater. I recv'd an email from IMAX & it listed the cities/cinemas that would have it, & I'm out of luck. So, I'm sure the other theaters in the area (20-25 mins. drive) will have it in 3D & in their Larger auditoriums, but it's just not the same as the Massive IMAX screen with 12,000 Watts!!  :( --- I saw it opening night last year at that IMAX theater, then once more in a theater with "Real-D 3D" which was similar in look but not audio wise. Then, a 3rd time in a "converted" theater to IMAX, which was pretty good. Lastly, I ordered it when it came out & sold the DVD to a co-worker at my last job (for $10!), & forwarded the Bluray to Fors* for the difference ($7) after watching it per his okay. I'm waiting for the 4-Disc Ultimate Edition later this year (November), as I'm sure you will get, even though you already Own the released version. |
Good morning Troy!

I made sure to buy the original release of Avatar on BD, since it was basically a Super-bit release, maximized audio and video rates with nothing else on the disc. I'll definitely buy the Ultimate version as well, but it won't have as pristine a transfer because there is supposed to be PIP and other features attached to the movie, all of which will take up space on the main feature disc, so the bitrates for the movie will not be as high as in the original release... |
Morning John, I saw your reply on your thread about Avatar, just thought I ask!
|
Hey Troy, hope you had a great weekend of movies. Did you have people over?

Well actually, I didn't watch any movie at all, I spent most of my free time entering my 1000+ movies into my Database with the barcode scanner, and printing out and stuffing DVD covers for 40 more movies I needed to catch up on... My mom and the neighbor lady got together on Saturday night in the theater and watched "The Last Song" on BD I rented from Netflix for them... btw, I did NOT watch that with them... :p |
Good afternoon Troy,
I thought I saw a vcr/dvd w/tuner in the Microcenter flyer, they actually listed one with tuner and one without, If I see it again I'll let you know. :D |
Troy I think you inspired me to create a website for my home theatre! The only thing is I'm not sure how to get started. Any suggestions?
