Nope, I'd just run to the hills to save my own butt, the heck with anyone else! Oh hey, that's right - I'm headed to our Pike County office in the Pocono Mountains tomorrow... lol! :D

The prison in York is only 2 stories in a few small areas, and single story everywhere else - so there's not much building to fall down here... we didn't even have to go outside after the earthquake hit.

Dang, since they closed a lot of buildings and businesses in the bigger cities for damage inspections today and tomorrow, we probably won't be able to get a replacement network switch for a couple days, most likely... Ah well, since I'm skidaddling in sheer terror to my haven in the mountains tomorrow anyway, I won't have to deal with that any more this week. :relief: :)

Joey Vento the owner of the famous Geno's cheesesteak died of a heart attack this evening. I say we all order cheesesteaks tomorrow for lunch in honor of our fallen cheesesteak aficionado.

Heart attack kills Philly cheesesteak stand owner.

[Show spoiler]Shocking - A "Cheesesteak" restauranteur died of a Heart Attack. Who saw that coming! :panic:

Yes - I'm making a bad joke. Sorry in advance. :o

On the serious side of things, I went there
[Show spoiler](& to Pat's Steaks, which is, Ironically, Literally a stone's throw away!)
many times for their great Steak Subs & "cheese fries", the latter of which, I'd never heard of until I arrived in Philly in 1985. My time there was the middle 2 yrs (85-87') of my 6-years in the Navy (83-89'). Obviously, I can't remember which one I preferred, Pat's or Geno's Steaks; it's been Waaayyyy too long since I was in Philly.

Ironically, pt. II, for me Personally, I don't like melted cheese at all
[Show spoiler](not on burgers, not on steak subs/sandwiches, nothing really)
, but I enjoy a great pizza. Go figure!

Hi Bill... I'm up in the Pocono Mountains at the Pike County Prison again, can't wait to get home tomorrow and batten down the hatches for Hurricane Irene... :worried: Actually, I guess if it goes up the coast like they're predicting, we'll miss the brunt of it and probably just get a good bit of rain, but hopefully not much wind, in the Lancaster area... fingers crossed. :ohnoes:

Got together last night with my friends who live up here in that big house on the lake...

A neighbor couple of theirs went along with us to the local Carnival at the fire company grounds (a really big event in THIS neck of the woods, lol) to eat Fair Food for supper - I had a dozen steamed clams with melted butter, a big plate of hot wings, some french fries, a funnel cake, and several glasses of Yuengling Lager - all good, healthy eating! They had a live band there that was pretty good, at least they played some good 60-70-80's rock - CCR, Journey, U2, Joe Walsh, Thoroughgood, etc... it was a great evening out on the town!

bz1080p 08-25-2011 05:31 PM

Nice looking house/grounds:rock:
Sounds like gook eats & entertainment too!

Thats what I'm talking about! I bet they are even getting residuals from some natural gas deposits as well........the Marcellus Shale region is the new "gold rush" for making money it seems. I wish I had a few choice acres!!!

Well no, there was no Vietnamese food at the fair that I saw, and the band members all looked American to me... ;)

Afternoon Troy. That carnival sounded like fun. It's been years since I have been to a county fair or carnival. Sure could go for some brats, beer and funnel cake.

FREYMAX 3D 08-26-2011 12:41 AM

I didn't see any Brats (except maybe for some of the young'uns running around!), but they did have hotdogs with sauerkraut there... :)

Travis 08-26-2011 01:01 AM

Well, I had to come and see what food is being talked about. The clams sound good. Never had a funnel cake. Feeling a little fishy, may go to the fish market tomorrow and get some clams and shrimp.

FREYMAX 3D 08-26-2011 01:16 AM

I met a co-worker at the local bar for supper, and I ALMOST ordered broiled scallops, but then I changed my mind and settled on a big, rare Delmonico... so you can eat some fish for me tomorrow too, Travis!

Wow, 2 good ones there, guys - thank Guinness it's a bunch of cool emoticons!

I'm scrambling at the Pike County prison office to get all my work done here before I skee-daddle from here just after lunch and make the long trip home, a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive. So, I won't be on the forum here again 'till this evening... C'ya's all for now! :grouphug:

bz1080p 08-26-2011 01:49 PM

Have a safe trip home Troy!:)

Gave a safe ride home Troy.....at least today is a nice day.

FREYMAX 3D 08-26-2011 10:09 PM

OK, I'm home! Made good time, got back into Manheim at 4pm. I had to stop at my parent's house first, though - my mommy missed me...

<----THIS is not my mother, btw... I know you all were thinking that - admit it... you know you were...

Thank Guinness it's Friday evening! C'mon!

FREYMAX 3D 08-27-2011 12:34 AM

Aw man, BIG image problem here - I need to go to the grocery store this evening to get a few things like bread and milk - but NOT because the Hurricane is coming - only because I was away on a three day business trip and used up as much food in the house as I could so it wouldn't all spoil or get stale while I was gone... But NOW if I go to the store and buy those things, I'll look just like all the other panic-ridden crazies that are lining up for bread and milk because a major disaster on the magnitude of an Ice Age is going to strike tomorrow...:worried::bitenails::ohnoes::panic::crazy:

Sheesh.

Hey, thanks for remining me - I still got a keg of Molson Golden on tap in my keg fridge - I'm all set for the hurricane, then - who the heck needs to go to the store now?! :D

*lurks over to the keg fridge with a pint glass as we speak, er, type...*

Yeah, well what you might not know is, Chicks with black hair are my ONLY true desire...

Neither actually have black hair, but my favorite female movie actresses with black hair for their roles are Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux and Kate Beckinsale in Underworld. OMG. :faint:

I dig Goth girls, too...! :D

OK, well I gotta get ready for my Class Reuinion Picnic - They wimped out and canceled the pavilion, now they're having it inside at the host's parent's house a couple blocks away... We may actually have a small crowd come over to the Frey Theater afterwards for a movie, popcorn, and some beer, if the weather doesn't get too bad... gonna get me some new patrons, lol!

I had to quote you BZ Love the photo.

Afternoon Troy, glad to see you made it home safely.

FREYMAX 3D 08-28-2011 06:28 PM

Sigh, Sunday afternoon, already. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow... :(

Well, the hurricane didn't do too much damage here, we didn't loose power here in Manheim like much of the surrounding areas, at least. I got a lot of leaves and small branches in my yard I'll need to rake up, and a 20-foot long, 6" diameter branch on the big tree in my front yard is hanging straight down on my Cable TV wire coming in from the telephone pole across the street. I don't use Cable TV, as I have my Directv dish, but it will be tricky getting the branch down without snapping the wire off - I may have to pay a tree removal guy to get it down... where it's snapped of and hanging is a good 30 feet off the ground, so I can't reach it to cut it off.
