Actually, the most f'd up thing is seeing all the hot girls that come in to the visitation waiting room to see their guys in orange - it just amazes me how all those good-looking girls are hooked up with all those baddies... :banghead:

That doesn't surprise me.....they always want the "bad boy" and why good guys will always finish last. Good thing I figured this out and gave up being a good guy a long time ago.....or......at least I gave up looking like one. ;)

Like Fors* posted, yup, they like the Bad Boy image, tho' I bet most of them are young (under 30) & will grow out of that.

Ordered the BB Wrath of the Titans w/3-D:rock:

Well, I really wanted to get Wrath as well, had it in my hand but put it back on the shelf, because I had just spent $40 the day before picking up Drive Angry 3D and Ice Age 3D, plus I just spent almost $200 on some new "accent pieces" for my theater room, which are supposed to be arriving today USPS Priority Mail... photos forthcoming after I get them installed, hopefully over the weekend... :hyper: :whip:

FREYMAX 3D 06-28-2012 01:21 PM

ACK! No Internet at home!

:panic: :panic: :panic: Wow, I got home last night and tried to get on the internet, and it was a no go. Checked my DSL modem - all the lights were on solid yellow, they are supposed to all be green with some flashing for activity... I power-cycled the modem multiple times, tried to do a hard factory reset on it - nothing, just back to all-yellow error lights as soon as I power it up.

Bigtime Brain Fart!

Called the ISP, they are shipping me a new Modem/router combo unit to replace my modem-only unit that failed, but I won't get it until tomorrow or maybe Monday, coming UPS. I'll be going stir-crazy if it doesn't arrive tomorrow and I gotta go all weekend without internet service!! :ohnoes:

Well, if you mean in how much time it took to get her pregnant (my wife got pregnant on the 1st or 2nd time we tried for both of our kids ).......so if you mean "fast" in that way, then yes, my "boys" are bona fide olympic swimmers! :D

That sucks, hopefully they're send the new modem next day and you'll receive it before the weekend. :)

Are you planning to watch anything new/exciting on your theater this weekend?

Well, We're in the middle of watching Season 1 (entire series) of "Camelot" so we'll probabaly finish that off by the end of this weekend, there's only 10 episodes... I'll probably do a 3D movie too, got quite a few I haven't watched yet. :)

What I got from the ISP is a modem/wireless-router combo unit, my old one was just a modem, and I was using a separate Netgear router. Right now for the sake of time-savings, I disabled the router on the new unit and am still using the Netgear router.

I'm not using WPA security on my wireless router, it's actually set to Open and I use a MAC address list for enabling access. Don't ask me why, just felt like it. I got 8 or 10 wireless devices that connect to my network, so I gotta enter all that into the router manually... I'll set all that up later... :whip:

When we got a new laptop and iPad for Christmas. It took me a day to remember the security key to type in so we could get on the Internet. Keeping it open would be easier.

OK, so I purchased a new addition for the Frey Theater this past week, I thought it would be a cool idea, but I'm not sure if it will work, or how it might work the best...

Here is what I got, laid out on my bar table just for a photo together - 12" Vintage Movie Marquee Letters, still in their original dusty condition, before cleaning them up:

http://freytheater.com/forum/marqlets1.jpg

My original brainstorm idea was to mount one on each of the 7 pillars in my theater room - I just taped them up temporarily just to see what they may look like:

http://freytheater.com/forum/marqlets2.jpg

Not sure if I can or want to use the "IN" or not...

http://freytheater.com/forum/marqlets3.jpg

The letters are translucent red color, so I thought I might eventually light them up from behind with some LED strip lighting or EL wire or something... If they are mounted on the light columns I could easily wire them into the same dimmer circuit as the sconce lights.

Alternately, I may just decide to mount these all together on an open wall space somewhere back in the snack bar area, but I really don't have much wall to work with back there... So I'm not sure where the best place is to install them...

I like the idea of the letters on the columns myself - it works, so go with it! Esp since you said you prob don't have enough room in the back area of the HT.

Mike16 07-01-2012 06:58 AM

^ Do you have room to hang the letters at the entrance to your theater? Otherwise, stick with the pillar idea, sans the "with 3D" letters, it would look better than just hanging on the wall in the back of the theater IMO.

hometheatergeek 07-01-2012 11:24 AM

How about this Troy. Make a nice retangular plague that is long enough to place all of the letters on and then hang it on hooks behind the PJ. This will then be in plan sight and at the same time hide the PJ from view.

Well, that really wouldn't work - the 12" tall letters with spacing between would require at least 10" each horizontally, so that would be a huge sign - and my ceiling is only 6 1/2 feet high, so hanging a sign in the middle of the room would be in the way of everyone walking past...

bz1080p 07-01-2012 07:49 PM

Good afternoon Troy:D
Either idea looks good, nice letters you got to work with too!

FInally got to see The Avengers in IMAX 3D today - the local IMAX theater brought it back this weekend just for the 1:15pm showings... my mother saw it listed in the newspaper at 12:20pm, so we made a split decision to quick jump in the car and go see it!

No, I was going to pick up the 3D version last week, but I was short on $$$, I had it in my hand and put it back on the shelf... I figure since the movie itself didn't get very good reviews, it will drop in price fairly quicky. I will be buying the regular 3D version because it has a lenticular slipcover; I'm just not a fan of steelbooks at all.
