Squad disrupter ammo is especially great, and despite what anyone says, cryo ammo, even at level 1, can buy you a lot of time. Aiming is no problem with a sniper rifle. Once you max out the Tactical Cloak (increased damage while cloaked) a rifle like Widow will do a lot of one shot head kills, and I wish I could remember the name of the one I have equipped now, because it goes through YMIR mechs like butter. I think it's a great class for Insanity, not having tried any others.

I love cryo ammo. It's awesome against enemies rushing towards you. If you have squad cryo, you can give your squadmates cryo and change yours to something else :D

The Claymore is a questionable choice if you have the Firepower Pack DLC. The Eviscerator Shotgun does almost as much damage, has longer range, a 3 shot clip, and a larger ammo capacity.

You can probably work that either way, but that way might be nice. I could go back to taking out all of the shields myself, and leaving them to be frozen by the squad. When enemies rush forward, I tend to cloak first, then they charge the squad mates and not me. You need a durable squad when you play that way, though. It's also good when you need to take out the heavy weapons in the back of an area. Stay cloaked as much as possible, snipe the heavies, while the foreground enemies focus on your squad.

Because the only useful thing that I can see Infiltrator having is Cloaking and Sniper Rifle depending on the level it is. So far I've played through Insanity with an Adept, Soldier and Sentinel. I've played through on casual with everything else except Vanguard.

Cloaking is useful for getting out of bad situations quickly, but you can't heal while cloaked, so if you don't find somewhere really soon, then you're done for.

the Sniper Rifle is a very useful tool. But its useless on some missions, mainly dealing with Husks (Reaper IFF mission).

Bottom line, I'd rather have a class thats more well rounded than the Infiltrator when doing an Insanity run.

why settle for "almost' when you can have the shotgun that deals the most damage. :D Range and ammo clip doesn't really matter for a Vanguard. You'll be using the shotgun at point blank range and you can reload and do a melee almost at the same time with the claymore.

I prefer the scimitar myself. You really have to test the shotguns for yourself and see which shotgun you prefer.

Rifle might be useless against husks but a submachine gun with cryo is not. :D

Well my Shepard finally looks:evil: It was funny with the "Biotic God" I let him go in this time and fail!

So do you just need to do side/loyalty missions to get other people to talk about their problems? I just did Miranda's but I want to do Thane's, Samara, and Garrus. I can't remember if it's after the Collector Ship or not. Just need to recruit Tali now. That should be fun.

I regards to loyalty and side missions:
[Show spoiler] Dont go do the IFF mission until all loyalty missions are done. That is SOOO important if you want your crew to survive. There will be ONE thing you can do after the IFF mission and it SHOULD be obvious when the time comes. In case it is not, just ask.

Yes, you need to talk to people to get the missions. The Yeoman will tell you.

Hey, it's pretty insignificant, but there's this little assignment you get at Citadel.
[Show spoiler]You find a forged ID in the factory district. I have been around Citadel numerous times, since, and I can't find anyone who wants it. Who wants it and where?

I did all the loyalty missions last time. I just didn't really pay attention to when they came up. Now I know about the IFF
[Show spoiler]luckily I was only missing Taylor's loyalty mission then. I lost Jacks loyalty right after I did the mission because I told her to back off. The only thing I did after the IFF mission was Legion's side mission I believe. There is not time to do anything else really.

[Show spoiler]you have to finish both garus and thane's loyalty mission. after that, two asari's are sitting on a couch near the stairs

I'd rather have a longer ranged attack like a sniper rifle than a mild upgrade in damage that you generally don't need. Have you even tried the Eviscerator? I assure you it kills guys dead just as fast as the Claymore, since the Claymore overkills a lot of weaker enemies.

There's nothing wrong with the Scimitar. It's very good against shields/barriers, but relatively weak against armor. I prefer the armor penetration of the Eviscerator personally, as enemies with only shields aren't much of a threat in general (particularly if you have Squad Disrupter Ammo). The Eviscerator deals almost twice as much damage as the Scimitar per shot, and more than that against armored targets. That's an impressive time savings without sacrificing as much magazine capacity like choosing the Claymore.

I tried the Eviscerator and didn't like it. I prefer the scimitar because it has a higher magazine load and a higher ROF which means I can shoot more targets at a faster rate. This comes in handy when I zig zag across the screen. At point blank it doesn't matter if you have shields, armor or barrier.

Just beat the Collector Ship. Ran through it pretty easily and only died a few times at the Praetorian fight.

Now I'm wondering if I should kill
[Show spoiler]Samara and take Morinth.

[Show spoiler]Are you doing a Renegade playthrough? If so, kill Samara.

[Show spoiler]I killed Morinth last time so I wanted to see what happens now.

Samara is the better of the two BY FAR as a companion, BUT Morinth has the better bonus power.

I chose Morinth first and then reloaded and chose Samara. Samare was also one of my favorite characters to talk to.

That's why I was thinking of keeping her this time. I actually sat down and talked to her but since I'm going the Renegade path
[Show spoiler]and saved her last time I wanted to try it out.

I say give it a try to max out or keep your Renegade meter high.
[Show spoiler]Just don't try to choose Morinth as your romance option. ;)

Down to personal preference I suppose. Once you get the +100% shotgun ammo upgrade, the ammo capacity of shotguns becomes a complete non-issue, but the larger clip size of the Scimitar is definitely a plus since you don't have to reload as often. Point blank range does increase your base damage, but I still find the Scimitar to be less useful on Insanity against armored enemies because it doesn't always one-shot armored enemies unless you go for a headshot, and sometimes not even then.

I personally think the Claymore is pretty worthless, even after getting +100% shotgun ammo capacity. Even on Insanity, it's overkill on a great many targets.
