Weird. I didn't have an option to counteract Morinth's gaze. It didn't let me choose either.

How high was your renegade meter?

During your conversation when she tries to do the "gaze" thing, you should've had a red renegade option to stop her. If you didn't have that option then you won't be able to choose between her or Samara......likewise, if you were doing a Paragon run through, there would've been a blue paragon option that you could've picked.

That's what I'm saying. There was no red option highlighted. I'm almost to the 3rd section of the Renegade bar. I guess you need there at least to choose the option. Wish I knew that earlier. Last time my Paragon was high enough so I got out of it.

Maybe you need to do the other loyalty/recruit/side missions to boost up your Renegade meter before doing Samara's loyalty mission.

I'm trying insanity now, and getting spanked. Is it too soon to try insanity on a 2nd playthrough or do I just suck? My Shephard is a lvl 27 Vanguard and I'm using the Blood Dragon armor.

Down to personal preference I suppose. Once you get the +100% shotgun ammo upgrade, the ammo capacity of shotguns becomes a complete non-issue, but the larger clip size of the Scimitar is definitely a plus since you don't have to reload as often. Point blank range does increase your base damage, but I still find the Scimitar to be less useful on Insanity against armored enemies because it doesn't always one-shot armored enemies unless you go for a headshot, and sometimes not even then.

I personally think the Claymore is pretty worthless, even after getting +100% shotgun ammo capacity. Even on Insanity, it's overkill on a great many targets.

better to do too much damage than not enough.

you just have to get used to it. I don't know what level you were on your first playthrough so there might be a pretty big difference.

I have the DLC armor (forgot what it's called) gives bonus to melee and shields.)

Yeah, my Paragon was much higher than Renegade is now. That is because I was new to the game and I explored all options and talked more. I'm going to spend some time getting it up. I did a lot though my first playthrough so I've been kind of rushing through this time.

Your problem is you started Insanity with a level 27 character. Keep in mind, that the enemies level up as you do, so if you start out the game level 27, so do the enemies, but you're also missing all your upgrades. So while you are a level 27 character, you have to start zero with upgrades and the enemies are tougher. It would've been easier (although still a bit tough) to create a new person and start at zero. That would level the playing field.

Oh that's great because I started at level 29 with my Adept.

Or not play Vanguard right out the bat on Insanity :p

Denoku 02-09-2011 12:33 PM

I wish I would have known that earlier. Could have saved me some ass pain in the beginning.

I'm not even gonna waste my time with Vanguard on Insanity. It puts you right in the middle of the action

I'm sure I'd be buying a couple new controllers if I did that :banghead:

Did anyone download the costumes yesterday. I'm downloading them today after work.

I downloaded all the DLC the other day. It was okay for $8. I like Thane's and Garrus' outfits. Jacks is pretty crazy looking. I'm not a big fan of the crazy masks they give you though. They look stupid in my opinion. The Recon Mask is cool. I haven't really had a chance to try out the different weapons yet either since I'm limited on my weapon choices. It's pretty good for the prce though. Too bad I downloaded the Terminus pack for free and then downloaded everything all together.
