Anybody else get raped playing Arrival on Insanity? My Adept and Vanguard were turned to ash rather quickly at first.

Yeah well I change my rating for this DLC....its officially a 6.0. Barely even made that :)

Like Lair of the Shadow Broker, it was an event that was going to happen before ME3 regardless. Downloading it just gives you the means to experience it. |
So, after seeing Ashley's ME3 pic, I started a new ME2 playthrough and chose her as my love interest. :)

Is anyone still playing this?

I'll pick this back up in probably another month or so....too many other games being released. Especially with Mortal Kombat coming out tomorrow and the MK Fight Club that I'm heading up........not enough time :p

I'll pick up Arrival if it ever gets really cheap. I'd rather not spend $7 for what is universally agreed to be mediocre dlc. It sends developers the wrong message that consumers will pay a premium for uninspired work and really hurts the quality of future dlc. |

But on topic....I'm all for extending ME2, but The Arrival was a waste. I'm pretty sure they were heavily focused on ME3, but I do think $4.99 would've been a better price point for it. |
^^Yeah I couldn't resist that offer either. I've had my eyes out for that for a while.
Anyway, in terms of DLC, my philosophy is this--If a developer releases 2 dlc packages (A & B), where A is critically acclaimed and B is a letdown, if the sales of both packages are more or less the same, the message the developer gets is that the actual content isn't important, just that SOMETHING is released. If the sales of dlc A is substantial and B is weak, the message received is that the consumers will not support in incoherent mess for the sake of quantity, but actually want quality dlc. This scenerio is where the consumer comes out on top, because developers will learn that in order for dlc to sell well it has to be on par ( or better) than the original product, not just something slapped together and called a package. Shadow Broker was very cool dlc, so the capability is there. Arrival (from what i've read and seen) seems more like intern work, while the main team is finishing ME3.:p |
