I bet that insert that says Congratulations is going to piss off some people around here that really hate flipper discs. :p

Thanks for posting the pics, btw.

Weird.
There is more of a talk going on in here about twilight packaging than the movie and the blu ray itself.

Um, actually, yes it is. That happens in Breaking Dawn.

....how would I know? I've only seen the movies, never read the books. Doesn't really sound like something that would happen in any Twilight book/movie to me. As it's not much of a "vampire" movie. And if you knew, then why ask?

How can we talk about the blu-ray if it hasn't been release yet?

There's somebody trying to spoil the movies for people without using spoiler tags.

I'm sure the movie will both look and sound pretty good, which will put it in line with the first two movies.

Ok, consider the movie and the Blu-ray itself talked about. :p

i hate them just because they're lazy lol they're essentially pressing two discs seperately unless they have some mega machine that'll do them at the same time.. so why not press two seperate discs? probably costs less too. if there was a version with bonus features and just the BD, then i'd get that but it being a flipper disc won't stop me from getting it though, it'll just annoy me a little lol. Canada doesn't have the flipper version, it's just a Blu-ray, but I don't like the French on the cover lol

I definitely agree that it would make more sense to just include the DVD copy in the case. The only difference would be having the cases be 2-disc cases instead of single-disc cases, but that wouldn't effect the cost at all. It doesn't really matter to me in the end, although I would get the single disc release if it had the special features on it too since I really don't need the DVD for this particular release. Once it's in my PS3, all becomes moot anyways.

freaking hate flippers

What a wordy conclusion. Didnt even read the entire thing after it attempted to align Harry Potter with Twilight.

VenomBrock 11-25-2010 07:05 PM

So PUMPED - got my midnight copy reserved!

Anyone hear any more on the 'Music from the Twilight Saga' BD? I want all of the music in lossless! *crosses fingers*

Same. Harry Potter won't be "leaving theater goers conscience" once the final film is out. These are two VERY different fan bases. It's like saying "The Beatles and Miley Cyrus will dissapear soon". No. Potter is this generatios Star Wars. Twilight is this generations N-Sync.

Has there actually been confirmation that the Target exclusive is a flipper? Their ad doesn't mention that the Blu-Ray version contains a DVD version. In fact, it says "DVD or Blu-Ray. Maybe the reason that Target makes the special features sound like exclusives in their ad is because they are exclusive to a Blu-Ray only version...

i think it was at as i call it "wally Fart" that i got new moon. i have the 1st one on dvd though. not blu-ray yet. at some point i will get it. & it's odd it says it's disc 1 but it's a single disc! when the 2nd one came out i didn't have a blu-ray player at the time. also i did look for a 2 disc set on blu but i just didn't no place carry it. so bear with me as well.

Matt.English 11-26-2010 07:36 PM

I got the "movie only" version of Eclipse last night from Walmart. I went up there for the Black Friday deals at midnight and they put out one of the Eclipse displays by accident. They realized their mistake almost immediately and got the display off the floor but not before myself and a few others snagged a copy.

53rd_3rd 11-26-2010 11:06 PM

I hope there is a version that does not include the flipper disc.

There is it's the movie only edition. It just has the movie and no special features but isn't a flipper.

I know some people think Taylor Lautner is a good actor but I just don't see it, he always comes across as wooden to me. I do like the previews I've seen for this.

the ad is saying that the Target exclusive will be available on both Blu-ray and DVD. if you look on the left, it says deluxe DVD+Blu-ray is $29.99

Yes we all know the PIP will be on the flipper disc but I am asking about the MOVIE ONLY version. Bluray.com lists PIP on the movie only edition page.

Why didn't you say that in the first place? :p

No pics or info of the movie only version that has been confirmed as of yet. You might have to wait until Tuesday to get your answer.

buckeye1 11-28-2010 03:03 PM

I was looking at the ads today in my newspaper, both BB and Target. It seems to me that the single disc both bluray- and dvd is the movie only edition. No extras, which is load of crap.(If I'm wrong, than I'm sorry). They want you to spend the extra money to buy the 2 disc set. Heck even nowadays even a single blu-ray will have some extras. Like I just told my wife, to me its all a scam to get more money out of us to have to buy the 2 disc set just to get some extras. She just wanted the single bluray and now might have to settle for the 2 dvd set instead.
BTW does anyone know what the differance is between the reg discs and the Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Best Buy Exclusive)- Blu-ray Disc is?

I can't find PIP on my movie only copy so I don't think so. Though I can't really imagine what it would be for since it's literally the movie ONLY. The only "features" advertised on the back cover are the video, audio and subtitle specifications.

Thanks, now I have to decide if the features are worth the extra 5 bucks. It doesn't really matter that much to me if it is a flipper.

well, the single disc Blu-ray and DVD are called "movie only edition" so there should be on confusion as to what's included. the 2 disc DVD and the bd+dvd combo both have the same special features

BStoner91 11-28-2010 11:45 PM

Have we found out yet if the Target exclusive package with the dvd/blu ray is a blu ray sized case?...i noticed they also had the same packaging for the 2 disc dvd?...(i'm so confused) lol but..yea is there exclusive for the blu ray release a blu ray sized case and then the 2 disc dvd target exclusive a dvd size case?

chips99 11-29-2010 02:59 AM

Any word on coupons for these along with the Destination Forks and Twilight Music Videos Compilation that's being released the same day?

When New Moon came out they had coupons that tied in with release of the first Forks documentary, Band Slam and Astro Boy, it was somewhere around saving $15 or $18 if you bought all 4 at one time.

aherron 11-29-2010 03:59 AM

Just getting the blu + DVD on Amazon. Bought the last two at Target but for this release I decided to get the one on Amazon to go with my last two blu's of Twilight. The only difference I think between Amazon and Target is the special packaging that Target has but the contents and special features are the same.
