Sony has announced a raft of new PS Vita games for launch in Japan.

Among them are Phantasy Star Online 2 and Persona 4 The Golden.

Phantasy Star Online 2 was previously a PC exclusive. According to Andriasang, series producer Sakai Satoshi said the PC and Vita versions will be played on the same server, and you'll be able to play the same character on both versions.

Also spotted in a new video: Super Robot Wars (Namco Bandai), Heroes Zero no Kiseki Evolution, Gundam Seed Battle Destiny (Namco Bandai), and a new game from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune.

In a video message (translated by Andriasang), Inafune described the mysterious Vita title as an "Inafune-like" game. It's also "amazing", but then he would say that.

Andriasang suggests Inafune's next will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

Sony also announced Discovery Project, a collaboration with Japanese company Kadokawa Games. According to Andriasang, it is unclear what the project is, but it will involve Vita owners working together in some way.

Heroes Zero no Kiseki Evolution, from Japanese companies Falcom and Pyramid, is an updated Vita port of a game originally planned for PSP, Andriasang said. The developers decided to make the switch to Vita because of concerns over the limits of UMD space.

All of these games are Japan-only - for now.

Meanwhile, Sony has announced a 28th June release date for the Vita version of Metal Gear Solid HD in Japan.

225K launch units sold in the US. Yowch. Looking forward to the price cut, I can't imagine those numbers going anywhere but down especially with a new iPad launching this month...

Also that Play.com page and listing for all those games was shown to be a giant hoax to fool some game journalists into reporting it.

Grim Reaper 03-10-2012 01:47 AM

anybody know what the numbers mean? the numbers next to times.

The "times" next to each username represents how many times you came upon them during their gaming sessions while Near was scanning. Are you asking about any other numbers?

Grim Reaper 03-10-2012 03:34 AM

You can fill me in what the others are. :)

PirateBooty 03-10-2012 03:43 AM

Well, under "Discoveries so far" we have the present which means total gifts that you've found, then the controller shows how many different games you've come across. The standard smile avatar is how many different players you've come across and then the golden walker is distance (obviously). :p

Grim Reaper 03-10-2012 04:09 AM

thx for the info. :D

If they end up bringing Final Fantasy Type-0 HD to North America for the Vita it would probably push me to buy a Vita. Thus far I've been holding out.

If you are purchasing the digital version of the game, then yes, you can download it onto your PS3 and then transfer it to the Vita via USB cable. I think this only happens if you purchase it through the PS3 and not the Vita. Can anyone confirm that last part?

Actually, if you purchase the game through the Vita, you can back it up on the PS3 via USB. Is that what you're wondering?

The question asked was "I can download it on my ps3 from psn store??" but maybe they didn't phrase it correctly? I do know about the backup option but I was trying to answer the original question.

cajmoyper 03-10-2012 10:18 PM

Can you believe I was worried about whether I'd enjoy this thing enough to warrant the price? I've now got 5 games and am having trouble deciding which plat I want the most.
