I don't like printed covers. They just look too cheesy to me. I'm OCD like that. lol

Thats why you get the good printing paper and ink to make it look like the real thing.

Local blockbuster is going out of business so I picked all these up for $1 each.

Didn't count them, but it must be around 100 movies.
You have bought 100 movie titles for only 100 dollars. The Avengers 10 Disc costs 50 dollars more. So that's an awesome deal! ::thumbsup:

But are that ex-rentals, or just new blu-ray discs in DVD-sized cases?
I don't like ex-rentals. Discs are almost always scratched or broken.

Yeah, very true. Even though they were all $1 some of them don't have the original artwork and about five of them are rental copies. Still I figure, not a bad way to beef up my collection quickly. Just have to worry about replacement cases now.

Also, mostly everyone in my small town bought mostly dvd's so that explains the variety of movies, oh well..more blu's for me!

Sent you a PM about helping you out with cases and covers

Looks like there are 83 in that picture and ex-rentals since that's the way BBV packages their rentals. However, I've never experienced ex-rental or rental blu-ray discs that have been scratched most likely due to the hard coat found on blu-ray discs. DVDs on the other hand are a different story.

Yea, I've probably bought ~25 blus from blockbuster and I've never got got a scratched blu before. Once I've wiped off some finger prints, they practically look like new.

Stuff I've gotten in the last couple weeks.

[Show spoiler]http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/8580/phto0027s.jpg

Clueless is from Amazon
Wrath of the Titans and 21 Jump Street are from Columbia House
The Vow and Mirror Mirror are from a user on here.
Step Up & Step Up 2 are from Deep Discount
The rest are from a Go Hastings sale

sk33tr 07-14-2012 04:37 AM

by the time i'd heard about the blockbuster "going out of business" sale, there was very slim lickings at my local store.

and the movies i did find and actually want were still at almost retail price so i wasn't about to get a used movie for only $5 less than a brand new one.

but they must've sold everything quickly because it's been closed for quite a while now and there's already a verizon store in its place that's been open for about 2 weeks.

How was Mirror Mirror? Is it worth a blind buy?

GOOD LORD!!! :jawdrop:

About half of those titles I would've loved to have picked up for that price. I wish some of those titles were available when Blockbuster had their $1 Blu-ray sale. Congrats on your epic haul.

Haul: 7/1 - 7/14

Good thing there hasn't been any huge new releases recently. I've been able to save some bucks every week and pick up some more wishlist musts. BB U&S can't come any quicker :celebrate2:

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...cX2/jul132.jpg

#444: 9: I enjoy this movie. I can see where it could have been much better though. The Oscar nominated short WAS better.
#445: 2001: A Space Odyssey: Classic sci-fi, hahaha I'm the only one I personally know that can sit and appreciate the entire thing.
#446: American History X: Blind buy: Not a movie for everyone for sure, but deserves to be watched. Edward Norton's performance was great, even Furlong was decent. I can watch this movie over and over again.
#447: Demolition Man: Blind Buy: This movie was one of the funnest movies I've seen. I enjoyed the humor, action, I even enjoyed Sandra Bullock's performance. This one had me smiling all the way through.
#448: U-571: Blind buy: My parents saw this in the theater back when this was released. I must have been like 7, so I don't remember a thing other than it was LOUD haha should be a good watch though.
#449-450: Analyze This/Analyze That: Blind buy: I always saw the first one on TV, but that's no way to enjoy an R rated movie, so I picked this up for 7 bucks. The first film is hilarious, I have yet to see the 2nd one, and I haven't heard anything good, but I'll be the judge of that.
#451: The Crow: Blind buy: Been on my must watch list for some time now. Now I can enjoy the iconic movie and see what the hype is about.
#452: A Nightmare on Elm Street: Blind buy: Have never seen the original, only to so-so remake. Never to late though :D
#453: The Patriot: A modern epic. This film; amazing, the battle scenes; epic, Mel Gibson; a pony tailed bad-ass. Finally got this for $5 at a pawn shop.
#454: 30 Days of Night: With Daybreakers, this film gives me hope for vampire movies. This movie is brutally beautiful, and like 300 and Sin City has a real graphic novel look to it. Awesome horror film.

:celebrate2:Best pick-up: The Patriot & 2001: A Space Odyssey:celebrate2:

I haven't watched it yet, but I'll let you know. I'm expecting it to be the total opposite of what Snow White and the Huntsman was.

And I know right? My store closing barely had anything was it was that low.
