Looking at the captures I can't wait for the sampler to arrive on my doorstep, I know what I'll be watching that day.
Hopefully the amazing quality won't show up to many of the occasional flaws in set design and make-up. I can't remember many complaints about TOS on Blu-ray so TNG should pass with flying colours. |
Looks good to me!

please don't tell me people are looking at a still frame and seeing different stars in the background and saying they ruined it.. it's like... being bumper to bumper with some person going the speed limit in the passing lane on the interstate... just facepalm... facepalm.

I wouldn't be surprised if these shots were used over and over, so generic shots in space of the Enterprise wouldn't be specifically labeled 'Inner Light', so they may have to go through every shot of the Enterprise to find all the exact ones. If the film exists, I'm pretty sure the plan is to use it... Are there other places the 4-foot model was used in these 3 episodes? I don't know the models that well, but I can check other scenes where it should be present... |

I see you guys finally decided to light up the Bussard collectors on the nacelles in 'Farpoint'!

I made a bunch of GIF animations comparing the original DVD images vs. some of the leaked HD screenshots:

Curious though, how did they handle this shot at the end of "The Inner Light"? Is it original or CGI'd I wonder? I think it's from season 2: http://tng.trekcore.com/gallery/albu...erlight400.jpg Here it is in "The Measure of a Man": http://tng.trekcore.com/gallery/albu...eofaman043.jpg |
In the opening credits for season one, there was a weird - some would say wrong - situation in which the starfield seen inside the rings of Saturn were isolated from the starfield on the rest of the frame, so much so that when the "camera" swept past Saturn, those stars moved as if they were trapped between the planet and the rings. Has that been corrected?
Whoops, nevermind, Bill Hunt's review covered that: "the opening credit sequence still includes the mismatched perspective on the moving stars when the ringed planet wipes the frame to reveal the Enterprise-D. It clearly could have been corrected digitally but was kept as a stylistic choice." |
