Just checked the preorder I did for this set on 3/2/12 on amazon and I’m locked in @ $69.99 right now!!!

And of course, if it drops in price before release day…I’ll pay that price instead!!

I’ll be holding onto my dvd set….specifically the extras dvd….until I see what this set is going to have in the way of extras!!! :ohnoes:

No way a movie, let alone a franchise of movies, about an archeologist going on adventures is gonna be good.

I'm really curious if Lucas will include the old DVD special features. It seems he never does it with Star Wars. I'm still upset we didn't get Empire of Dreams in HD.

We will see what happens I guess..but we are long overdue for some new interviews!

They also have the aspect ratio at 1.85:1. So I'm not sure if the set is 5 discs. The announcement from this site said 4.

Nobody knows, besides the studio, how many disks this will have until they announce an official press release from the studio for the consumers. While this site reports 4 and Amazon reports 5, it just shows that different sites have different information regarding this release. I'm not going to debate which is right, only that we won't know until the details are released since the studio hasn't announced which special features will be included. Chances are that there is a fifth disk.

When the DVD boxed set was released for the original trilogy, there was a fourth disk filled with bonus features. While George Lucas has a penchant for not repeating bonus features, just remember that this isn't mainly George Lucas' decision, this series was co-produced by Stephen Spielberg, as well.

According to the Official Site, it's a 5-disc set.

Correct. But he also did a cover that was rejected:

Yeah... something like this would have been nice:

I really like that cover. The beige tone would match my Star Wars set nicely.

This is brilliant! Simple is often the best :) There is too much going on in the proper cover, this would've been a lot better.

Dude, I said this when my cousin asked me if I wanted to see this "new movie". He reminded me that a few years earlier I didn't want to see a movie about boxing -- Rocky.

(And one last time many years later when he told me we should see a French film. A foreign film! A little artsy flick called La Femme Nikita, which began my mentoring from Luc Besson!)

Thanks! Just sat back and let Drew do all the hard work -- when I was 11! :) Can't improve on genius, after all. When the full specs are announced, I'll create artwork for the back and post a high-res png link in case anyone else wants to print it and put it in a 22mm 5-disc blu-ray case.

Mr. Cinema 06-28-2012 01:00 PM

If the official site says 5-disc, then it must be. I do think they have dropped Crystal Skull's 2nd disc, or at least added those features with the 5th disc. Walmart has this added to their listing: "Bonus Disc with Over 6 Hours of New and Previously Released Content."

Nice - Plus, I see the Price @ Amazon has Dropped to Match WalMart.com's price of $74.96 - Not too bad

** But, being this comes out Sept. 18th, I'll prob wait 2 more months for BLACK FRIDAY Week @ Amazon - I'd be Shocked if this isn't a "Lightning Deal" for $50-60 that week **

At least the German version has a black border as oppossed to the lame white one the US is getting. The black border adds contrast and pulls the artwork together. The white border just looks incomplete. Another example of poor graphic art skills. Better artwork too on the German version.

The US has the exact same artwork. You're confusing it with the mockup I did yesterday afternoon. But thanks for the compliments!
