You're more than welcome, and you won't regret it . The title of the "South Park" episode was "The China Problem" (season 12, episode 8). Here's an overview of it:

A time travel story could be fun. So long as I get to see old Indy interact with a young Indy at some point.

Or I can just watch B2F2.

So what you guys think : What r the chances to see this on BD next year?

I'm 100% sure Indy will be released on Blu-ray in 2012.

I also hope the Adventures of the Young Indiana Jones will make it someday on Blu-ray too...

I doubt it since they were all filmed in 1:33. You never know though..Lucas likes his $. I still need to get volume 3.

Star Trek TOS... That 70s Show... virtually every movie made before 1953...

Technically you are referring to the Academy ratio which is 1.37:1 except for That 70s Show.

You are correct, but my point was that the aspect ratio should not determine whether or not it gets transfered to blu.

Agreed. My daughter and I watched Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer yesterday and they sure look fantastic even in 1.33:1/

I'm pretty sure I also read somewhere that, while the Young Indy shows were shot on film, they were edited on tape, as was common for 90s TV. I don't know if masters exist in high enough quality to make HD worthwhile.

A shame that the only video versions are the bastardized re-edits that combine every two episodes into one "feature" and lose the bookending scenes with Old Indy.

I have a feeling that Spielberg intentionally made KOTCS with the cheesy bits to hopefully kill the series in a light and respectful way. There is no way he ever thought those moments would be fan favourites. Those are things for kids to laugh at, and at this point in time does not appeal to the fans.

He was roped into spending 12 months of his directing career to do a movie and he only did it for respect of Harrison and fan service. He wanted to respect everyone he could but also clamp down the series to a halt.

Huge effort for Harrison to do a decent size action movie at 66. Its insane! For that alone I'm glad a movie was made.

====================

Anyhow. No release dates for these yet? More rumors? I got no time to read every page :P

There are many pillarboxed blu-rays already released. Young Indy on blu-ray is possible, and I also thought I read somewhere that it was shot on film.

You could touch the top of the Burj Khalifa with that reach.

Indy? Have you really watched the movie?

I saw it in the theater. Haven't seen the Blu-ray of it, though. I remember him swinging from vine to vine and there was a jeep going. It's been a while. Maybe it was Le Bouf on the vines and Indy in the jeep?

Correct, complete with horrible CGI monkeys.

sorry, I don't see the hate for KOTCS. Was it Raiders? Nope and nothing will ever be Raiders of the lost Ark again.

I see people griping about the fact that aliens were so "unbelievable" or "how would you survive a nuclear blast in a fridge". Personally I believe it more plausible to find definitive proof of alien visitors on the earth than a guy that could pull a persons heart out, or the ark of the covenant or a cup that gives eternal life. Also for the fridge haters..How did Indy survive riding on the submarine in Raiders? It looked like they traveled quite a distance UNDERWATER (the captain is seen looking through the periscope). Indy did that while being undetected? For god's sake how long can he hold his breath??

The Indiana Jones movies are great, I love 'em, but you can't take a micrometer to them because (like everything George Lucas is associated with) it just doesn't measure up to scrutiny.

Blu-Benny 01-05-2012 09:36 PM

Spielberg has said many times that george wrote these movies and wanted to stay true to his vision.

So anything that was put in, it’s a pretty good chance that lucas is the mastermind behind it.

+10000

I have never been able to understand the hate as well. I mean it obviously will never compare to the original (nothing will), but it was great to see Ford at his age wear that Fedora again! Not to mention they brought back Marion! I personally enjoyed it very much (some of it was even filmed about 20 minutes from me in New Haven, CT). I will say that I may be a bit biased because Indiana Jones is my favorite series of all time ;)

This is NOT a bad thing. The initial film transfer could have appeared dark and they added brightness. That is not a big deal.
