It wouldn't necessarily be spam especially if it's Indiana Jones related.
Here's the first of the Bantam Books. Yes, all the covers were done by Drew Struzan excluding Army of the Dead.

Indiana Jones and the Peril at Delphi - 1922

Indiana Jones and the Dance of the Giants - 1925

Indiana Jones and the Seven Veils - 1926

Indiana Jones and the Genesis Deluge - 1927

Out of all of the books listed these books were my favorites and were actually pretty good. The others were good too but I don't seem to recall them as much as the first ones. I haven't read 'Army of the Dead.'
I can't wait for the movies on blu-ray. I still have KotCS sealed in it's steelbook package. Maybe they should do an 'Ultimate' set and add in the the 'Young Indy' series on 9 dvds, lol.

This certainly is terrific news. I just watched Raiders on DVD to celebrate the 30th Anniversary and despite my eyes being more attuned to Hi-Def blu-ray these days, the transfer still holds up. Can't wait to see this on blu-ray! I'll be picking up the box set, no question.

Army of the Dead is sitting in my dresser along with the Bantam Books. Haven't read it either but I intend to after rereading the Bantams. When reading them I can visually picture in my mind a slightly younger Harrison Ford to gradually older, Temple of Doom time even though he was older when they shot the film (should've taken place in 1934 instead of 1935, coulda still been Sino-Japanese War with Short Round?). Quite cool and even Indys dialog in Harrisons voice. Bit difficult to do "casting" for the parts of the other characters excluding the ones pre-established.
Young Indy could actually be 1080p since the series was shot on film. With the three set DVD releases I'm unsure if LucasFilm Ltd. ran them through high resolution for transfers.
Randomly related Indiana Jones tidbit. I did enjoy Emperor's Tomb but hated the damn jumping puzzles near the end of the game.

Yeah, I should probably give Temple and Crusade another chance since its been years and years since Ive seen them. The sequels had a VERY high standarda to live up to so failure was likely.

IIRC, Temple is the worst of the lot. Kate Capshaw was a deal-killer and her shananigans got old quickly. Plus, this film had some cheesey moments too.

Crusade is the one that most people seem to like so Ill perhaps try that one again. Crystal Skull is OK for a watch but Id never want to own it. I still think I'll be waiting these to come out individually before buying but Ill watch them again to be fair.

I too have been holding off on Crystal Skull until the Box comes out....might as well have all four in the box set! Let's hope an annoucement is made soon, so some new, slightly informed arguing can ensue :p

Ditto, also expected that there would be a 4 film boxset so I could get them in one nice package. Never seen Crystal Skull so it was rather easy to wait :)

any idea would the blu-ray boxed set contain just the trilogy or all 4 movies? surprisingly, i still have not watched the 4th movie. heard that many didn't like it.

There probably will be a 4-movie set when these come out. I thought Crystal Skull was alright really.

Really cannot wait for this..Does anyone know, since you're all rambling on about Spielberg, if they're going to do a Jaws boxset?

Yeah, there will probably be individual releases of all four and four movie box set. I'd personally rate all four movies like this:

Raiders: 10/10
Temple of Doom: 7/10
Last Crusade: 8/10
Crystal Skull: 8/10

I surely hope not. 2 was ok, but 3 and Revenge were worse than awful.

Can't wait to add this to my collection, oh and Mr Speilberg bring out Jaws blu ray please!!!! :D

You rate Raider only 20% better than Crystal Skull, and place CS on par with Last Crusade? You're a little more forgiving than I am!

Raiders 11/10
Temple 7/10
Crusade 8/10
Crystal Skull 6/10(the saving grace for me was
[Show spoiler]the quick glimpse of the Ark in the warehous
(Did I really need a spoiler alert??)

It's in the works, just a question of when (this year would be nice though :D)

I like Crystal Skull. It just worked for me. It also impressed me that Ford did most of his own stunts at his age.

Don't get me wrong, I like it too...it's just that Raiders set the bar so high.
Crystal Skull was, in no means, a bad film! Had it been the first in the series, it could have been a huge blockbuster. I think it just suffered from having extremely large shoes to fill.
I'm hoping they include it in the set and make it a quad vs. tri.

BillieCassin 06-19-2011 02:27 PM

My relationship with these films is so funny.

Somehow I missed them growing up. I didn't see them until I was a teenager and I was babysitting for a family that had them. I've seen them a few times. I had the DVD set for years, and then I ended up selling it when I was slightly downsizing my box set collection a couple of years ago knowing it was stuff I wouldn't watch between then and when I had HD. I watched them through once with the commentaries (I think?) the day before I sold them.

So I'm not a *huge* fan, though I do quite like them. But I'm also a huge Disney park fan, and I love the Disneyland ride and still enjoy the old tired show at the Studio's in Florida. However, I'm very much looking forward to this release. I can't for sure say day one - depends on the price - but it will be on my list to get as soon as it hits a reasonable price.

Indeed, they were not very good, but It'd be cool to see them released together and I'm a sucker for a bad monster movie;) Btw; Totally agree with you on your Indy ratings! I pry would have put Last Crusade at a 9/10, but I really did enjoy Crystal Skull.
