Are they going to announce a Toy Story trilogy box set containing all three films on BD in 3D? Hope so.

yup, someday.

Seems inevitable. Day 1 for me.

Master Shake714 01-09-2010 09:01 PM

yeah im sure they will...day one purchase for me

Diesel 01-09-2010 09:02 PM

When the 3rd is announced...probably.

that1guystudios 07-24-2010 11:38 PM

It is possible. I'm guessing a box set maybe in 2011 or 2012? Not sure if they would release both the 2D and the 3D in the same year...especially since the 3D stuff is really just ramping up. Disney would probably like to have a slightly better market saturation before marketing releases of the first two.

Disney Pixar is the only major animation studio that is left behind with a 3D bluray release.

and usually there are on the upfront with technology.

But with all this hardware bundling and double dipping, I wouldnt be surprised If they do a 2D boxset for now.

But also, since they have no 3D releases whatsoever, I wouldnt be surprised if TS3 becomes their 1st stereo release.

Bundle or not is the question.

Either ways, a 3D boxset is inevitable in the future, and I will wait until that day.

Toy Story 3 hasn't been announced officially but all news sites are reporting a 3D, 2D, DC, DVD 4 disc combo pack is what is expected for TS3.

I'll buy TS3 Day 1, and then sell it and the 2 2D Toy Story films when the 3D box set arrives later on....hopefully with even more bonus features.

Even though I think encoding 2D and 3D versions on separate discs is a waste I will still be buying Toy Story 3 on 3D Blu-Ray as soon as it comes out. I really hope we get the first two as well day to date.

Toy Story 3 - 3D (4-Disc Combo Pack) (Disney/Buena Vista) was listed awhile ago @ High-Def Digest.

EDIT: The Street Date has been removed and replaced with "Pending".

Did you guys think the 3d was that great in the theatre? I saw only the 3rd in 3d and wasn't that impressed. Although the movie was great.

They seem to be able to make the 3D as subtle or dramatic as they want to. Toy Story was more on the subtle side. I usually prefer the more dramatic 3D myself. Despicable me was a great example of a more dramatic 3D effect, and a great movie too.

Insert ad for a Toy Story 3D Blu-Ray release is apparently in Beauty and the Beast. Doesn't mean the release is imenent but it is interesting

Jeff Kleist 10-04-2010 03:19 AM

It's just to advertise Disney 3D as a concept, not to advertise Toy Story 3D

But it uses the Toy Story characters. Could have used A Christmas Carol which unlike the Toy Story movies already has a release date

They have been showing "Toy Story 3 3D" clips in 3D-advertisements on DirecTV's n3D Channel-103 & the ESPN 3D sports channel-106 since the very first 3D World Cup Soccer telecast aired this summer. IMO, it doesn't mean a thing until a release date is provided..

Christmas Carol doesn't represent the Disney (Pixar) brand the way Toy Story does. It's a Zemeckis film that Disney released. Toy Story is a strong part of the Disney "brand".

Saw the 3D trailer on a Sony model at a store. It looked great. Which makes the lack of a 3D option on the first release all the more painful.:(

Exactly. Toy Story 3 will se release sooner rather than later. But I still don't see it coming until next year at the earliest. I'm betting on a 3D Trilogy.

The Amazon link to a TS3 BD/DVD/Digital Copy 4-disc release that I'd earmarked thinking (based upon 'net speculation) that it might be 3D has been updated . . . to a Spanish 2D 4-disc set.

Is the general consensus now we're not getting any TS 3D BDs this year?
