Well considering we're getting matches on bluray for the first time, this will be a welcome addition to my collection.

i know, but i just hate how wwe puts out so many "repeated/new" documentaries for the same superstars...the rock, austin, cena(has like 3),etc..give us new guys like christian, miz, henry, guys we havent seen yet on how they started

They go for their money makers the more well known the star the more of a chance of a sale. They probably feel Christian got his spotlight in the ladder match sets and there is no way Miz or Henry would sell very well at all.

i know what you mean, hence the hbk vs heart release the Montreal screw job segment alone was the reason most fans bought it,im just saying i would like to have more of a variety,if you can throw me useless diva matches every week why not a decent superstar variations of your home video releases, all in all the rock documentaries never fail to entertain or give more of an insight to his career

KilloWertz 11-10-2011 04:45 AM

Big fan of The Rock, so I may get this if the price is right.

I think this is Part 2. Originally, The Most Electrifying Man In Sports was supposed to have a documentary as they even interviewed The Rock at his house (some of which can be seen on The Greatest Superstars Of The 90s DVD), but for whatever reason, The Rock declined to further participate so the documentary portion was removed.

I'm hoping The Rock (2011) will have that documentary reincorporated, but from the sound of the description, it sounds like it will be similar to the Just Bring It DVD where it was just a camera crew following The Rock around during his off-time. Basically, it was The Dwayne Johnson Experience.

Wally Q 11-10-2011 06:58 AM

So they follow him around for the two or three dates he worked for WWE and then went off to make his movies?

Michael Bay Fan 11-10-2011 03:53 PM

And just in time to promote his match with Cena at the upcoming Wrestlemania which is like a month or so away from this release date.

Shane O Mac and Scott Hall should get sets way before Miz and Mark Henry. Christian definitely should though.

Well they did release a John Morrison DVD in early 2010 but i read that it didn't sell well at all, and they had to cancel the Kofi Kingston DVD which was suppose to be released but then they decided to put it on pay-per-view instead. It was also included with the May 2011 edition of WWE Magazine exclusively in the UK.

Wally Q 11-10-2011 05:00 PM

I'm pretty sure Andre the Giant deserves a new release over Rock, Miz, Mark Henry, etc..

It is sweet. My local Best Buy had this out on Sunday and I had to grab it. Freakin' incredible!

Considering I stopped watching wrestling when the Rock left, it was interesting to see the issues that arose with his leaving with the new talent now...

After watching this, I'm getting that Stone Cold Steve Austin set. I completely forgot how dominate and how great wrestling was when the Rock, Triple H, and Stone Cold pretty much had wrestling by the balls.

This set is miles better than the DVD that was released 2 years ago. Miles better.

The highlights during the documentary are glorious.

PS...look for ESPN's Michelle Beadle's cameo towards the end of the documentary.

steve1971 02-20-2012 12:27 PM

How about some Blu rays of the Hulkster and the Macho Man? If they ever do that I will be getting them.

nelly_platinum 02-20-2012 12:46 PM

And the Ultimate Warrior...even though he's whacked out right now...that guy was one of the greats...

These new WWE documentaries totally rock. They are real quality. They should definitely do one for Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, Ric Flair, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle. I'd love a Chris Benoit one, too, but that will never happen for obvious reasons.

Tony208 02-20-2012 08:03 PM

I own no WWE blu-rays but The Rock will be the one and only

I can see them doing a Undertaker and Triple H in the next year or two put I don't think they will do one on Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle.Because they are with TNA I hope when Sting retires that WWE will finally do a documentarie on him. They was going to make one about Sting and put him in the Hall of Fame but that all changed when he went to TNA

DetroitSportsFan 02-20-2012 08:51 PM

$16.99 now at Amazon! I wonder who they're matching to go that low?

EDIT: It looks like someone might have submitted Best Buy's DVD price, and Amazon didn't check close enough.

Ordered. WWE BDs rarely drop this low.

I'd love a Sting doc, since he's my all time favorite wrestler of WCW. Especially with his Crow gimmick.

The SCSA doc is absolutely perfect in my book. Best doc the WWE has ever produced.

Edge has one coming out soon. Also CM Punk an Triple H sometime this year. I'm hoping for an Undertaker set after he retires and can comment on his career throughout the documentary.

As for Chris Benoit , I still have his "Hard Knock Life" DVD. I can't watch his matches or interviews without trying to guess what's going on in his head. It's weird but I'm ok with what the WWE has decided to do in this situation.

Also popped in because of the price drop , wasn't expecting that.

The Benoit set is one of the best DVDs the WWE has produced. Literally every match is top notch. The match with Bret from WCW the night after Owen died was LEGIT. One of my favorite matches ever. Everything else on it is great though as well.

As for the Rock set here, I just ordered this. For $16.99, that's a steal. I have yet to see Orton's or Austin's set get below $20, so for this to be brand new, this is great. The extras for the blu ray are kinda meh, but it's better than nothing I suppose. It's a shame though, as the matches on disc two don't look all that great tbh. His DVD set back in 2006/2007? looks way better on paper overall than this does. Will wait and see though. Really can't wait to see this documentary.

The doc is really the only reason to get this blu-ray. His last DVD had great matches, though.
