Honestly it would be down right dirty if universal came out with something like this after all the 100 aniversary titles were released, after everybody has bought the titles they want already, I think most people would be pretty pissed (probably be crazy expensive anyway)

Plus I'm pretty sure those are the german releases and its probably just how theyre slipcoers are.

Something along those lines is mentioned on the leaked list as I said earlier and the list has been about 90% accurate so far (see below).

I don't think that's how the german slips are. They actually say that the Scarface movie included is a steelbook, and it certainly didn't have any design on the spine that would line up like that. Plus we'd be aware of any such design like that already, since people would have taken pictures of theirs lined up, etc.. These look to be specifically made for this set.

When I first saw the possibility of a mega Uni 100 colllection, I wasn't thinking about individual cases, but something like the Essential Art House/Janus DVD collection Criterion put out a couple of years ago. Perhaps that's along the lines of what we'll get, since we seem to get smaller form-factor sets here.

oh well, i still say its a pretty dirty move, they should have just done the slips up like that from the get go.

Well, they sent me a new Bourne code, but apparently the Casino digital copy is US-only.

I know, I know...but its so nice:o, but i'm happy with what i've got, it just would have been nive if they would have done the slips that way and then come out with a delux book set or something like that.

retablo 07-06-2012 11:23 PM

Confirmed, no Schindler's List on blu for the Universal 100.

To quote a famous movie, "Uh, this is Houston, say again, please?"

That makes absolutely no sense as its easily one of Universals prestige titles, plus with ET, Indy, Jurassic Park, Jaws and Private Ryan on Blu or soon to be, it would be the only major Speilberg release not on Blu.

By the by, I was scanning Amazon for future Universal 100s and I saw Double Indemnity slotted for release in October I think, but only as DVD. Anyone know if there is going to be a Blu for that on or not?

hardtosayx 07-06-2012 11:50 PM

They said it won't part of the Universal 100 releases, they didn't say it wasn't being released at all.

MPeriolat 07-06-2012 11:54 PM

For clarity, "they" being TheDigitalBits.com. As stated, Schindler's List is coming on Blu, but not as part of Universals 100. Saving it for 3rd or 4th quarter 2013, it would seem.

Disappointed.

Josh5890 07-16-2012 03:13 AM

Why did some of the universal blu-rays like Scent of a Woman and Meet Joe Black not get slips like the others?

I don't understand why they're not releasing Jesus Christ Superstar on Blu when there is a Universal 100 DVD packaging of it.

thismightbezach 07-29-2012 06:59 PM

I guess Andromeda Strain isn't coming after all :disappointed:
