Very sick of rude people at the movies *rant*

I went to the movies today and three ladies walked in 3 minutes into the movie yapping their mouths off. They took 5 minutes to find seats all the while still flapping their gums. I got fed up so I said "Would you please be quiet so everyone else can enjoy the film?" So they get in my face and one of them says "you don't have to be rude and say it like that" I said it as nice as I possibly could without going off and cracking skulls. So they keep on at and say to me "we paid the same as you." It was like unreal. Why go to the movies if you want to talk? Go to a diner or coffee shop. I just don't understand where people get off. It's just not worth going anymore. I think besides a few must see films, I'm done going to the cinema. So
Sorry for the rant but I'm sure many of you can understand the frustration.

So glad my theatres aren't like this. I often wonder how I would react put in a situation like this.

Underworld54, I've had a guy threaten to kill me out in the lobby at the local main theater because I asked his girlfriend to put away her cellphone during The Hangover Part II. So, I've stayed away from the theater as much as I can and go to the local dollar theater. I'm paranoid about going back there, I saw The Thing twice over there and I am going to catch Star Wars 3D tomorrow afternoon.

so you'd beat up 3 ladies for being loud in the theater? a little intense dont you think?

Underworld this has been happenign for years, it just the way it is. it has become worse since cellphones came out, but it is what it is.. what i do is wait a week or so to check out a movie so it cools down a bit, and i very rarely go to the movies on weekends.. for starters im usually out doing other things, and i tend to not like the giant crowds at the theater

Not for being loud but for getting in my face.

I see your point man. People in general have become more rude and selfish. I can usually ask people to be quiet and they are embarrassed to the point of closing their yappers the entire rest of the film. Oh and I would never get into a physical confrontation over a movie unless I was threatened physically. It's just not worth it.

yea it sucks, but theirs really nothing you can do about it.. yeah you can go out of your way to get a movie attendent but youll be finding yourself doing that more then you want to.. . what i usually do is get up and move seats.. try to stay away from them, then once the movie gets going i usually zone them out

if you wanna pick up 14 year olds

doctorD 02-14-2012 11:19 PM

Wow...sorry to hear that. You can always go out and tell the attendants. If they don't do anything about it, usually complaining to them about it afterwards will result in a free ticket or your money back.

By the way, what movie was this?

Like my man nolfoc said earlier, if you go get an attendant then you're harming yourself by missing part of the movie. The movie was Underworld Awakening

Well I guess it's up to each individual. If it wasn't that crowded you could always try the gaseous matter move:eek: in hopes that they would move:thumbsup:

Hey, you've already seen this movie. But I understand. You're review of the movie is what got me to go see it. Great movie.

ha its the truth!

I miss the days of actually having ushers that would actually enforce the "be silent" rule. The movie industry keeps blaming piracy for the decline at the box office. They don't take into consideration that a lot of people don't want to spend $10 or more on a movie just to have some loud a-hole yap. They would rather wait until dvd or on demand.
