I'm running a studio here. Do you know how long it takes to shred/burn 4 seasons of TV and all the footage and other resources from a major motion picture? Get to nagging Warren Buffet or something and maybe you can buy it off me ;)

Of course he'd be "qualified"; he'd be the studio owner. That's what studio owners do- all of them.

It might not be the most brilliant move from a business/marketing perspective, but what about deciding how your studio's product is going to be made and sold makes a studio owner "arrogant"?

Jeff,

While you're at it, please fire Haden...I'm so sick of Claire on "Heroes." In fact, don't fire her...just fire-up the meat grinder (just be sure to get it on film).:eek:

If it helps, I saw her sitting at a very lonely table at Comic-Con for a very long time :) Could also be that whoever was sponsoring her appearance was charging some ludicrous amount for autographs.....

I hope I didn’t mess up on my pixel counts because I typed up that post rather quickly and under the influence of a sugar (in coffee) high…..nevertheless, I think I made the *scanner resolution does not necessarily equal Blu-ray movie sharpness* point crystal clear for future reference as more titles come down the 4k digital pipeline.

I will say that I suspect the Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography to mimic those of the ASC nominations………

except possibly for Bright Star (4k digital master) to sneak in and supplant one of the others as a dark horse but that’s probably a long shot.

Well, you sure as hell didn’t indicate any interest in bidding for MGM (~ 4,000 titles) and the rest of the loan is due next year!

What are you waiting for……a bankruptcy filing?
Please,……if you’re really serious about acquiring your own studio, bid on MGM!

And speaking of buying stuff–

Who said Jim is only interested in the extra-dimensionality of pretty Blu faces.

hey, PM, you managed to check out the Criterion BD of Benjamin Button? There's a really interesting bit in the (typically amazing) David Prior doc, where they actually show the camera testing that they did in choosing to re-use the Vyper (as per the Zodiac shoot).

For that alone it might pique your interest... I'm still of the opinion that some of these so-called "extras", including the one done for Zodiac, Panic Room, etc., are actually a league better than the majority of first run releases... But, I digress. :)

Me. I said so.

Bets:

- he'll produce, not direct
- it'll be really bad, culturaly insensitive, overly melodramatic, and little more than a Vanity project.

Love to be proven wrong. :)

On a related note, I remain cautiously optimistic that Lucas' own pet project, some 30 years and counting, might not entirely suck

It's being directed by a guy who, as one credit, was a main AD on the best show in the history of Television.

Cut it out, P-Man! I don't want Jeff buying MGM if he's going to burn half the catalog just because it's not to his taste.

Doctorossi 01-28-2010 08:16 PM

You're on the hook for my heart medication, shark.
