I love my Harmony One, best remote I have ever used. I am trying to get all my friends to buy one. One friend gets confused on how to switch from blu-ray to directv, so it would greatly help him.
|
I'm thinking about buying the Harmony One or 1100 for my basement HT setup. I'll be reading through the thread to pick up as much information as possible.
Are there any projector end users who own either? Please feel free to let me know how the integration into your setup works. For me, it's going to control both a projector and a panel on the wall. |
I use my One with my projector, works great. And you can easily set up more than one display on it. And make separate command actions for each. And the nice thing is that when you switch from using one activity to another, the remote makes sure that everything not needed is turned off. It really is quite easy and intuitive.

I ended up buying a referb 1100 so I'll be hanging out here for a while! :)
|
So how'd it go?

I just noticed this thread here and I guess I can join the club now.
I picked up a Harmony 700 at Target for $39.99 and I love it. It's my first Harmony remote and they really do live up to the hype. :D The only complaint I have isn't even really about the remote, but more of a circumstantial thing. My receiver (SC-BTT770) doesn't "save" your latest input when it's turned on and always defaults to the Home screen. The Harmony allows me to circumvent this by selecting the appropriate input for me when I choose Watch TV, but the receiver takes a bit too long to fire on, so the Input command only takes about half the time. I've programmed Input onto one of the buttons that correspond with the on-screen commands, so it's a fairly easy fix. Just a bit aggravating since everything else works so well. (My mind was damn well blown when I was trying to figure out how to assign a 30 second skip for my cable box [since there wasn't a preprogrammed command] and it actually "learned" it by pressing the button I had it programmed to on my Comcast remote.) |
looking to get the Harmony 1100 any good it looks sweet but is it good ?

It does everything that I can imagine except for one thing. I found a button deep inside the 1100 that says "Beer Me." I aim the 1100 towards my wife and push but nothing ever happens. She has never moved towards the refrig. I think there is something wrong with the button. Someday, I contact Harmony. |

Just got a replacement ONE for one that went defective after 3 years.
With the new ONE, the screen stays black for 3 seconds when I lift off the charging base. The previous one immediately went to activities. Small nuance, but still bothers me. Anyone else have this issue? |
So I finally was able to get to mess around with this remote. I've downloaded the software and set up my account.
I don't like the fact that every time I want to make a change, I have to sync with their servers. There's been a few connection issues and it gets on my nerves. Anyways, I've setup all of my components, and custom button/channels. Since I am running plasma/projector setup, I set up two "watch tv" options. The overall process was rather painless (just time consuming). I have to actually now set my stuff up so that I can use the thing :o |

What??? replace the wife?????? |
Just ordered the Harmony 1100 , can't wait for it to arrive and get it programmed.
|
The 1100 arrived earlier this afternoon. I messed around with it for a bit before work. Its a handy little device. Managed to get a couple activities programmed in, took a bit of trial and error to make it turn on the XPA-5 through the Onkyo's zone 2 trigger it works though. I'm happy with it, now just have to get other activities programmed.

I guess I've been a Harmony owner for a while now and have not posted here for some reason:confused:
Anyway, I have the Harmony One for the basement HT and the Harmony 510 for the main living room upstairs. I just heard about the Harmony Touch (when I just came to this thread!) and I also saw that the 1100 is on sale at Amazon. Not sure if it's worth it to upgrade the Harmony One, though. If I did, the Harmony One would replace the 510. The 510 would be the new bedroom remote. Decisions, Decisions! |

LOGITECH - Closeout Store - "Buy closeout products at a special price" (Save on Closeouts/Dented Box/Refurbished Products).
Looking at either the 1100 or 900 - both are $199 & I have a code (via email) saving an additional 15% off either, so we're only talking $169.99 Anyone have thoughts, Pros/Cons, on either one? I'm kinda leaning towards the 1100. Currently own the Harmony One [Show spoiler] . I have no real qualms/issues with it, other than I've had it for a bit (2-3 yrs roughly), & sometimes it seems to not "sync up" smoothly with whatever command I'm doing. Not all the time, just occasionally :shrug:Thanks. ;) |

Only CON I can think of is you can't make macros for individual "buttons". example.... I'm watching a movie I'm thirsty I want to go get a soda so I hit pause, I'd like the lights to turn on(in the HT room) when said pause button is pushed, after getting my soda I head back to the couch , I hit play and the lights turn off. The 1100 can not do this. It can control lights just not in the manner that I described. |

Here's a quick question for you Harmony owners, can it be set to control an XBox? Debating on if I'm going to pick up whatever model they are selling at Costco and was curious. Trying to reduce the amount of remotes I have in the house. Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Yes you can. Harmony Remotes can pretty much run anything. It will even have icons for all the buttons on the controller. I currently have the One, but thinking about moving it to the living room and putting a 1100 in the HT room. |
I love my One, but have been thinking of upgrading to the Touch.
|
I am thinking of purchasing a Logitech 1100 and currently use the Logitech 550. I really miss the big LCD screen on a remote and have a Sony RM- AV2100 that I retired.
I searched and was wondering is there anyway to install my own customized logo buttons especially for the devices? |
