I picked up the Target version this morning. I decided to take a few photos of some of the various screens on the three discs, so that it might help others decide. I shot these with my happy snappy (point & shoot) aimed at my 70" LCoS set. Please excuse the tilt in the images (too lazy to fix) and the glare on my screen (the morning sun really hits the window hard on that side of the house).

Well no surprise, I stop at one of the local Walmarts while at lunch and they haven't even put them out yet  They had two different places where they should be, but nothing there except the price label. These Walmarts around here are pathetic. I even asked a worker to check for me and she scanned the label and said "Well I'm showing to have some but it looks like we're out".

There's one more on the way home that I'm going to check, but I'm not going to get my expectations up that they will have it...

If they had the price labels already set up, then you should have asked them to check their storage area to find a copy for you.

My experience was the same this morning. Just 3 copies on the shelf. And thankfully it is a standard multi-disc keepcase with attractive slipcover. I am so glad it was also released in this fashion. Now its time to watch the disc! Thanks to everyone who kept us informed.

Unless you are hell bent on seeing the movie NOW, I'm sure Target will get more copies.

I doubt more copies because if it was a regular item during release week they would have got more than 5 copies -

It's my lunch time...

Time to see and figure out which version I want. Either Target or BB. Glad both stores are next to each other.

I’m off to see the wizard.. the wonderful wizard of oz!!!

Got to my Target around 8:20 after driving an hour. They had one in the new release section. I didn't ask if there were anymore. Target was practically dead so I don't know if they just put out one and had others in the back.

I just opened mine and was surprised to find how nice the case was! Wow. So glad I picked up Target's version.

Also picked up Gremlins. They had 5 copies on the shelf.

I had the people at Best Buy frantically looking for the Wizard Of Oz set I had found online. They went online and saw I wasn't crazy when I showed it to them. They checked more boxes in back and there was a lady from Mosaic? also very confused. Finally the manager checked the UPC numbers and discovered that Best Buy's website had messed up and put the set out twice, just with different descriptions. They apologized profusely and I told them not to worry about it. It's Best Buy's mess-up. Not the store's.

I was in Suncoast Video and they had the box set down to 44 dollars after a mail-in rebate. I put deposits for DVD steelbook editions of Transformers 2 and the new Star Trek movie. Don't really care if they aren't blu-ray steelbooks. I'll just stick the blu-ray in the case and put the DVD in my collection or give it to a friend.

I went to Target this morning at around 11am, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Oz was in a standard BD case. They had 2 copies, 1 after I left.

Went next door to Wal-Mart, and they had 4 copies of their 1-disc release.

Look at that link ......

This is listed on Amazon because their third party sellers are trying to scalp it for $50+.

The clerk was going through boxes when I got there at 8:30am or so. She already had gotten to the one that had OZ so they wer eon the shelf.

Yep, they put them out when they get to them. They don't stay overnight obviously to do it and they open at 8:00am and probably no one gets there much earlier than that.

Best Buy opens at 10:00AM and USUALLY everything is already out when the door opens. I know some of those folks get there early enough to do it.

Who in their right mind would pay $53 for the Target edition when for $1 less they can buy the UCE with a boatload of more crap in the box?... Sometimes these scalpers amaze me... I bet they're stocking up on Wii's also when the price dropped to $199 thinking they'll flip them on ebay in December...

YOu would be surprised how many dumbasses are out there.

I went into Target on my lunch hour and they had 3 copies... but all of them had slices down the side of the case. They must have been cut by whoever was opening the box.

Since I really don't care about the extras, the one disc is really good enough for me. I will probably try Wal-Mart on my way home tonight and hopefully they will still have a copy in stock.

Pantallicarox 09-29-2009 06:52 PM

All of you guys who got the UCE what # did you get? I got 000,946. I was so excited to see one under 1,000.
