It’s been pretty muggy & warm here the past couple of days….yesterday and today i did something I don’t normally do….i rode the bike w/o wearing my jacket w/the armor plates in it.

I have a 13 mile ride to work everyday and don’t like riding that far w/o the jacket on b/c the roads I take are in deer country. :ohnoes:

When the weather is like this, that’s the only time I don’t wear it b/c it’s so uncomfortable….even @ 60-65 mph.

Hec, all I ever wear in temps above 70 is a t-shirt or tank top (yes, a wife beater ;) ), jeans and my boots....no jacket, helmet, etc......sometimes it isn''t just about the journey...it's about how you look gettin' there..... :D

I can justify not wearing the jacket from time to time….but I’ll always have a helmet on.

Once I guy one of these:

Wow….people are dropping like flies here @ work.

1 girl quit and her last day is today.

A lady is retiring and today is her last day.

One of the unit leaders (the person below the supervisors) found out he got the job he was aiming for @ a local sheriff’s dept., he will be gone in the next couple of weeks!!

My unit leader is fed up and is looking for a new job.

If we lose our contract, they may have to hire people just to get us to the end of the current one that we hold.

DangeRuss 07-02-2012 10:35 AM

Good Morning .........

I hope you had a great weekend ;)

Good morning BB:rock:

Blu-Benny 07-02-2012 02:01 PM

Morning guys!!

I have mixed feelings about this past weekend. Saturday was awesome. went w/some friends and took the kids swimming all day. Then the kids got to ride a pony @ the end of the day…they had a blast!!!

And then yours truly rode a horse for the 1st time as well!!! :scared: I s/h/b a cowboy!! :D

But then there was the heat we’ve been having here in WI for the past week!!! :banghead:

My wife slept in the living room Friday night and last night. I actually slept in the basement Saturday night!!!

We have a/c but the 2nd level of our house gets so warm the a/c can’t keep it cool. And that’s where our bedroom is.

That stinks Benny. So, it sounds like you don't have central air, do you?

Hang in there.......as it looks like another rough week ahead.

Look at the bright side....you did get to ride a pony. :D

No, we have central air. It’s just that our 2nd level was added on at one point to function as an apartment. There was an older lady that owned our house and she didn’t want to live in a home so she added on the 2nd level so a family member could live w/her.

But when they added on the 2nd level (probably 25-30 years ago), they didn’t do everything the way it s/h/b done. The insulation is crap and just crammed in the rafters, the a/c & furnace lines up to the 2nd level were added onto existing runs so nothing gets up there.

I think I’m gonna have to cut a ridge vent into the roofline and then blow insulation in there up to the peak. :shrug2:

And yes....the next week is going to be terrible. we'll be sleeping in either the living room or basement for @ least the next week. :banghead:

Blu-Benny 07-02-2012 09:33 PM

well, compared to the news we just got here @ work....my a/c problem pales in comparison now. :o

we found out that we lost our appeal and will be losing our contract next year.

Good thing you have your head on right and have been proactive in understanding your priorities and getting things in order.

Thanks Fors*!! I’m of the opinion I should stick it out here and keep the same pay and benefits for the next year. And then when I get laid off, see what I qualify for as far as displaced workers or grants for school go. My wife wants me to find something else now…even though I’d be taking @ least a $5 paycut.

Yep…..went from about 10-12 pre-orders for blu’s down to 2 after that news.

I think you are doing the right thing.......timing is everything, and once the dust settles and it gets to the spring time next year, you'll see alot of things pick back up with job openings, and maybe then, you'll have more options than fighting everyone else around you now for what jobs there are. :shrug2:

I know you love your blus Benny :).....I am very frugal, not willing to pay more than $15 for a blu, unless it is a must have, and even those are usually 1 or 2 a year, thats it. That is why you have many more blus than my 96. ;)

the thing is….if I file a claim for tuition reimbursement here @ work, I’ll have to stick it out till the end. If I leave, then I’d have to pay that money back.

Before I joined this site, I was willing to pay up to $25 for a movie. Since I joined, I can count on 1 hand how many I paid full price for.

I’m very cheap….my wife and everyone I know will confirm that for you. :D

The vast majority of my collection is from the trade forum on here. Other than that, I will use a coupon when one is avail. I’ll take advantage of the trade & save promo @ best buy when there’s something I want. All of the pre-orders I’ve been getting the past couple of weeks are from that 70% off sale on Columbia house.

Now I’m curious myself. Instead of working, I may have to figure out what I bought brand new vs. what was bought on sale vs. what was bought from the trade forum.
