Does it say delivery or arrival?

Delivery is the final destination but arrival can mean a variety of points along the way.

IImo when Night of the Hunter goes oop, prices are going to skyrocket and with good reason. I'm saving my copy for Christmas, but I can always watch it on netflix again. It's def. not as good, :( but it'll do. :)

Just wanted to make sure in case I missed it somewhere, but is Night of the Hunter really going OOP?

Tom Hiddleston 11-30-2010 02:47 AM

Not yet.

It was just released, so not for a while. I meant that when it does, prices will go through the roof when its oop. :) Because its such an amazing film, imo.

True B&N fashion? I've had nothing but perfect packaging done by them, and I order from them more often than Amazon. Got mine in the mail today.

Box was an appropriate size for the content inside, had a bubble insulator for the extra space to keep movie from shifting.

Not a single dent, bend, bow, crease, scratch, anything.
Another, typical, perfect item from B&N.

Aww man, did I just get called out by Barns & Nobles' girlfriend?

Seriously, though, glad your packaging was up to snuff.

Well, the Dazed and Confused (DVD) is on lightning deal at Amazon right now for $8.99. Nice thick Criterion package too. Click on link and then lightning deal on the upper right.

Back to 9.99, which is still an insane price for an All American film classic. Great package all around, the transfer of the movie, the cool case with the awseome artwork, the very nice detailed book, and the poster! DVD or not this is one classy release IMO.:) I got it for 13.50 + tax when B&N had the 50% off sale and thought that was quite the bargain... Wish Slacker was 9.99 as well!

Nah, just always been a pet peeve how much most of you people hate on B&N but jock Amazon so crazily.

Seems like 9/10 of users on here have Prime, but 1/10 have a B&N membership, which as always confused me.

I'm a die hard B&N supporter, have a BN membership, as well as a BN Mastercard, and hardly ever buy from Amazon.

And therein lies your problem. It all makes so much sense now.

I have neither BN membership nor Prime. My allegiance is bought by good prices and quality service. I don't buy from B&N much, since they fact I have to pay tax adds 10% to every transaction, and outside of big sales and coupons, I don't see many competitive prices.

At the moment, I am arguing with customer service because they are refusing to honor the 10% AAA discount on an order I already placed. They retroactively removed it, and when I asked them to fix it, they shipped my package 2 weeks earlier than estimated. Mysteriously, it cannot be tracked.

Now they won't even answer a single email. This is the kind of service I associate with B&N, because this is the kind of service they give me. The only time it is worth is when I am saving 50%.

It is nothing personal.

I have both. A year free of prime for being a college student and a 2 month free B&N membership. Ill cancel both before I have to pay any money for them.

I was actually pretty shocked, as mine arrived in perfect shape today, packed the same as in your pictures. This is not normally how they send me stuff, so color me tickled pink. Or should I say this is not normally how their box sets arrive at my doorstep (I'll hold of on the gory details of past disasters, let's just say this may be a first for B&N). Glad I held my nose and jumped in, at least this one time.

I maybe had a package shipped this way a month or two back. Started out UPS. Ended up being "delivered" to my post office. And the next day it was really delivered by USPS to my mailbox (for all intents and purposes, my house).

Ran is not a CC blu-ray. One of my favorite Kurosawa's, but it's only available via Studio Canal blu-ray. I watched some of it (too soon after watching the Criterion dvd, so didn't finish, for now), and it does have some issues that possibly and/or likely wouldn't have been the case had Criterion been able to do their blu-ray instead, but it wasn't as terrible as some claim. Criterion's dvd wasn't one of their better ones PQ-wise imho, so a net gain as far as I am concerned. Just not as much as anyone would have liked.

Kagemusha probably looks like CC's Ran would have looked like, maybe a little better still, but I wasn't as thrilled by the story. Probably can't go wrong with Seven Samurai, but I've only watched the original CC dvd at this point; no doubt the blu-ray's way better than that. Looking forward to seeing Seven Samurai again before too long. And Yojimbo/Sanjuro too for that matter.
