I don't think "Salo" was supposed to be enjoyed, anyways.
I think it's like Haneke's "Funny Games" and sort of asking to the audience to walk out of the theater because of it's very deliberate use of vouyerism and violence. On the other hand, with "Taxidermia", I'm not sure what the director was going for there. It comes off as some sort of novelty value that diminishes once you get used to its extreme use of violence, gore and disgusting images. |

^Totally! Especially during the time it was released. What's the deal with these films coming from the 70's, eh? :P
Off Topic: Paranormal Activity was a snoozefest. |
OKAY. Just saw the opening 10 minutes of in the realm of the senses out of curiousity and it's definitely something I will not watch with the folks. :o
The transfer is amazing though, |

I can't even watch this one with my wife, because she would tell me it's disgusting........ she actually told me she wanted to watch Salo' so I told her the basic "gist" of it......... and once she realized I wasn't joking.....she said she had no desire to see that! |
I just googled Salo........

It's just a film. I mean... I think we should all get together and watch John Waters' "Pink Flamingos" and follow that up with a round of GG Allin videos. At least, those all have "real" poop in them. :) CC |
