I love how things are right now, in certain cases it's cheaper to order from Amazon then Amazon.ca :)

It's still cheaper, but the dollar's now hovering around 94 cents. :( I liked it when we were exactly par.

LE SILENCE DE LA MER !!!!!!! Wow, I need to get me a region-free BD player NOW . Perfect way to start the year, can't wait to get it.

I got my amazon order today and didn't realize SALO was going to be in a cardboard case or I would have bought it at Barnes & Noble. I could have sworn I read some where it was a plastic case. (JUST FYI I love the cardboard cases liek Salo and the like just didn't expect it on this release :-) Seems DVDbeaver had it listed as being in a transparent plastic case. I may return my amazon copy for credit and buy it this weekend at Barnes.

That's what I thought too..... So it's a one disc cardboard case release like breathless? It must be because of the size of the book. Not sure why DVDbeaver said it was a clear case

i'm anal retentive they have to be MINT haha The side of top is a little smooshed and the side spine that I would look at the most has a slight indention. They are small and honestly not bad but I would pay 35.00 at Barnes to get a MINT one. I paid 27.99 for this one

That was nice of you...thanks! I was not aware of this being in a cardboard case. I like it! DVDBea... listed it as being in a transparent BD case.

I am the same way as well when it comes to condition of the packaging. If I'm going to pay top dollar for a release like this, I want to make sure it is in the condition I can happily accept...and yes, I will watch the film regardless...

However, for the lower cost, I would keep it and write to Jon for a replacement. So far, he has replaced all of my beat up cases/cardboard boxes to date. They're awesome. I always offer to pay, as it is only fair, but so far, they have been very very generous.

I do like Criterion's packaging better than the BFI's. It's a bit more discreet and looks classier.

It is the same size IMO as Carlos and Amarcord. Pretty sure it is the same thickness as Carlos.

You must be a B&N member, because it's 39.99 in-store. I'm debating whether or not being a B&N member would be of any benefit to me, since I live in Canada and order 99.9% of my stuff from them online.

I called and the guy said it was $35.99..... Sometimes they take off 10% without having to be a memeber (and an addition 10% off if you are a member) so maybe thats why.... im not sure though
