It is of my subjective opinion that your wife is wrong. I say that as a girl, who is supposed to like those pathetic, stupid, sparkly emo-***** excuses for vampires.:D

Just my 2 cents on Twilight

Maybe 3-4 days before the sale. I think the card takes awhile to get recognized in the B&N stores' registers.

I went ahead and got a couple of titles I wanted and ordered the membership.

Just be sure to remember when it expires because it will automatically renew it and charge $25 if you don't cancel.

CoopFilm 10-19-2011 08:41 PM

How long does a trial membership last? Does it cost anything?

Are you asking how much the free trial costs?

I will, s00per. Thank you.

2 months. When you sign up, you need to make a purchase but it can be an e-gift card that you can use to buy Criterions in store so you're not really losing money.

ShellOilJunior 10-19-2011 09:48 PM

This is slightly Criterion-related, I suppose. Has anyone heard anything about E1's alleged blu release of La Dolce Vita? The restoration is currently touring yet E1 has not announced the blu-ray.

Plus, Criterion Cast makes a case for it joining the collection:

http://criterioncast.com/2011/10/17/...la-dolce-vita/

Do they know something we don't know? This would be quite a feather in Criterion's cap.

Now THAT would be a title that would truly get me excited!

Every once in a while I check and see if I can find this on DVD for real cheap online, but hold off because I know there's a restoration going on - and thus a subsequent blu. Not necessarily expecting a Criterion release, though.

CF is claiming Paramount may hold rights now. This would be very good news...

I was always under the impression that CG was a HE, and SB was a SHE, and CC is both

:D

Looks like La Dolce Vita is in Paramount's library:

Which bring us to the next point. Will Paramount dish cash for a BD release of La Dolce Vita? Probably no :(. Not impossible but highly unlikely.

Cinemach 10-20-2011 01:08 AM

Well...then I change my stance from 'probably not' to 'maybe' on a La Dolce Vita release. I wouldn't even wait for the B&N sale for that bad boy if Criterion was to release it.

aherron 10-20-2011 02:18 AM

UPS just delivered my copy of Pierrot Le Fou.:) So glad that Amazon had it. Will be watching this sometime this week. Still have to get Harakiri, Island of Lost Souls, Kuroneko, Diabolique and 12 Angry Men.

Darkcritic 10-20-2011 02:28 AM

Not Criterion related, but this should make some of us extremely happy...

At last, Fassbinder comes to BD !
