I was being facetious. Although you are correct. I get tired of people crying over region locking. The upcoming Touch of Evil MOC is region locked B. I got over it.

I asked this in the sale thread, but perhaps it's a better question for here. If I have a choice, should I get Revanche or Fish Tank? Both look of interest to me.

I have yet to see Revanche, but I own and love Fish Tank. I think that one would be a safe choice, but judging from the opinions of others that have posted before me, you should probably get both at some point.

It's quite sad that Criterion has decided to opt for Region A-locked releases. Otherwise I probably would have bought the majority of the movies.:)

I'm glad they are, more copies for us important regions

I think Revanche is a must-have for those that love beautiful cinematography especially. It's a movie I visit frequently just because I love how it's filmed; aside from the fact that it's just a terrific movie in itself. I saw Fish Tank, liked it, but I don't think I'll be revisiting it anytime soon. Didn't do much for me but still a good film.

I watched Revanche a couple of months ago and its pretty much has the same storyline as Terribly Happy, does anybody know if it was a remake or somehow related?

Reading the plot of Terribly Happy, I don't really see how they're similar other than they both have cops. Seems more like a mystery thriller to me.

FYI, Godzilla King of the Monsters is coming on TCM this Saturday smack dab in the middle of Tarzan and the Valley of Gold, The Adventures of Robin Hood, and The Great Race. Don't ask me what Godzilla has to do with a Mike Henry Tarzan movie, Errol Flynn's Robin Hood, or Jack Lemmon's Professor Fate. :D

Is it wrong of me to want Criterion to release a BD of The Great Race? The WB DVD was a bit lacklustre, and it's such a fun film.

The way Criterion handle the releases of the movies, I think allof us have some regular main stream movies with wish they would release :)

WB is so stingy with catalogue titles as well, and half of them have very few special features. The Great Race is screaming for a BD upgrade.

Good to know. :D It's definitely one of my favourite Edwards films. Only The Party is better.

So I'm adding up my potential purchases for November's sale, and it seems with Fanny and Alexander's set, along with the Three Colors Trilogy, I'll have to spend about $245. Ouch. That's just with 50% off though...not counting the extra 10% off for a membership yet.

Here's hoping for some coupons...

Well, I'm figuring that the price on Criterion's site is the price B&N will use as their MSRP. The 3 Colors was $79.96, so $40, and Fanny was $59.96, so $30 for that.

That's $70 right there. Add some more $20 titles, and $15 for the Antonioni film, and you get $245. My guest-imate was for all of my purchases, not just the 2 sets. Those two are just the most expensive of the ones I need to purchase.

Crap, my mailbox did not have that box I was hoping for today. It should be here in tuesday's mail. Island of the Lost Souls is going to get a special place of honor on my Criterion shelf.

After reading more about Identification of a Women, I may be tempted to pick a copy up at the B&N 50% off sale coming up.
