What I wanted to know was if the Netflix miniseries version is the same as the Criterion? Sounds like it is, which will save me some $ when the B&N sale comes. Frankly, I do not see myself watching this again, so to have the exact CC version will be nice.

Anybody have an idea when Criterion will have more Third Man replacement cases?

I doubt they will. I suppose somebody could stumble across a misplaced box in the warehouse but I can't see them printing more. Same for The Man Who Fell to Earth...once those are gone they're probably gone for good.

Ha, I feel like I have half their warehouse right now. It took a couple of emails and a few more weeks, but I finally heard back from Criterion regarding my desire to return all the extra cases they sent me by mistake, and an extra copy of 3 Women.

So there will be some more The Man Who Fell to Earth cases back in stock soon. :D

I am thinking of holding all the extra loot they sent me hostage in exchange for a promise to upgrade Le Samourai and The Cranes are Flying in February. Is that wrong?

Does anyone know if the Carlos on Netflix streaming, the miniseries in 3 parts, is the exact same version as the Criterion release? It says it is unrated on the Netflix site, I assume just like the Criterion release, or no?

I'm pretty sure that is not the case.

Purchasing an HDTV and sound system this month so I'll have to cut back a little bit.

Dazed and Confused
The Great Dictator
The Island Of Lost Souls
Orpheus

Second wave:

No. In that case it can't be any more right. I really hope that the version coming out in France in December has English subs...

What is not the case? The Netflix version is the same 3 part version as on the Criterion disc, as I watched part 1 yesterday and it is the exact same length. Are you saying that Beta is wrong and the Criterion disc does not have the short version on it? Clarify if you can, as I assume you have the disc and have watched it?

I was able to see the dialogue at the bottom of the screen. I used my remote to turn them on. (nothing on the Criterion menu screen to indicate titles)

ok now that is what I was wondering.
my problem is I can't figure out how to access the subs menu using my Panny remote.
I've looked in the manual and I don't see it.
very frustrating.

When Carlos was first mentioned as coming over to the CC, it stated that both versions would be included. However, when it was official announced in June, for release in September, there was only a listing for the complete version.

Once the BD was actually released, it was confirmed to only have the full-length version.

You own them all...don't you own this one? Or did you stop collecting?

And, while I'm thinking of it, (don't ask me how I remember), you had your CCs sorted in an odd way and said people should guess the order of your spine #s.

Can I see that pic again? lol I'm bored at work...

Ha.... I don't recall having anyone 'guess' and I'd probably have to update a new picture!

I put a temporary hold on purchasing new releases, to give myself more to buy during the sale :ohnoes:

Carlos was one of the pre-orders I canceled. I did get Harakiri, Les Cousins/Beau Le Serge, Salo, Vigo etc, but I still need Phantom Carriage, Carlos, Island of Lost Souls, My life as a Dog, and others.

Well, if I remember correctly, your point is that nobody would be able to guess the order. I'd like a shot at it...I may have to go and look for that pic, but damn, there's too many pages!!
