Watched DazedNConfused last night. Had never really seen the whole film and never gave it a chance. Made me miss my teenage years. Really reflects exactly like it was for certain groups of people in that era. Man we have lost some freedoms and become a pansy PC lawsuit hungry nation. I knew that before but that film really brought back some memories and drove the point home for me.

watching Carlos this weekend can't wait!!!

I wonder if the Spinal Tap photo they posted on FB means they got the title back... Or if it's just a nod to 11/11.

I wonder if they'll add Melancholia to February list, since they released Antichrist and it's being released in the UK...

Febuary sounds like a good timeframe for it, or March at least. I'd love for it to be available through Criterion.

Yes, 4 months after the limited theatre release should be enough... but if they're gonna wait as long as they did with Antichrist, we'll get it in next October

CriterionCast seems to think (or maybe hope) that it is Rashomon. I hope they are right.

EddieLarkin 11-11-2011 07:15 PM

Here's hoping it's Hidden Fortress

My favorite Kurosawa........ But Roshomon would be greatly appreciated as well.

OK. Thank you very much.

I still have yet to watch Seven Samurai.

It's been sitting on my shelf over a year.

Has anyone heard anything on Criterion planning on releasing any Herzog films? They posted a photo of Kinski a few weeks back for his birthday on FB, I don't know if that was a tease or not. Owning Aguirre on Blu-ray would be amazing.

That would make me so very very happy :D I got to watch Melancholia on Wednesday on HDnet and it quickly became my favorite movie of the year. An absolutely stunning film. It would make a very nice companion piece to antichrist for the collection (both dealing with the theme of severe depression)

For some reason though, I'm not holding my breathe :o especially that soon..... but it would be a perfect fit for the collection and they do seem to favor Trier films so you never know :)

Well, we've gone without a Kurosawa since July.
