Same here, I am shocked to see how many everyone has. :D

Here's mine...I know I have a measily 12. I didn't add DVDs I own cause I didn't even know stuff like Chasing Amy was Criterion back when I got it.

Well, when in Rome...

I think I included all of my DVD releases, but I can't be sure at the moment. I only have a handful, anyway.

Well, if you show me yours, I'll show you mine...

I am more or less jumping in 7-10 increments with each Barnes & Noble sale.

:p

Wow...our collections are shockingly similar.

I hate you for having The Third Man, though. :p

Has anyone written to Criterion with movie suggestions? If yes, did you get a response?
I am thinking about requesting a few titles...

The funny thing is I got it right upon my switching to blu-ray and making my first purchases, when it was already out of print, and I had lost any hope of finding a copy at reasonable price... and, lo and behold, it turned out there were several of them at the IFC Center's kiosk here in New York where I live. When I asked for it, the girl at the counter offered me the copy they had hanging from a clamp that had badly damaged the cardboard case, and the anal collector within me shuddered at the thought of being dealt the painful option of having it that way or not having it at all (back then, I wasn't aware of Criterion's regular cases replacement for their digipaks). But, fortunately enough, after a while searching for more copies in their stored stock, they found a few.

If memory serves me, I think I posted about it here on these boards so other people could benefit from it.

And actually, it's still listed as available on their website... :ohnoes:

You may want to try your luck.

;)

Supposedly you get an automated response, but I haven't received one yet for my suggestion on The World of Henry Orient. I would honestly kill to have that added to the collection.

Haha. :D I'll try emailing Criterion with that suggestion to see if they're more receptive to that instead of The World of Henry Orient, although I really want "Oriental Henry"

B&N finally sent me an email, filled with apologies about how they inconvienenced me by sending me incorrect items, and not responding to me within 48 hours, and confirmed that they gave me a refund. However, they still didn't tell me what I can do with my extra copy of the Dazed and Confused Blu-ray. :o

It's sitting at my parents house, still sealed, as my mother just emailed me and said to try to take it to Walmart for an exchange. Not sure how that will work, since Walmart doesn't sell Criterions up here, it's dishonest, and they would probably not refund me the actual value of the item anyways.

Now - where is the blu!?

So there could be a chance of The World of Henry Orient!? I know I keep schilling this film, but I just love it so much, even though Merrie Spath, who played Gill became a hardcore republican for Regan, Bush, and W., and did the Swiftboat Veterans propaganda garbage.

It really is a great film though, it went to Cannes in 1964, and freaking Bosley Crowther even liked it: http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/revi...ten%20Tomatoes

It's available on Netflix, and a wide variety of places, even if the DVD is OOP. It's also coming on TCM on the 18th of January, I implore everyone to watch it.

It's the same deal as when people buy films then post the pictures here of their "haul".

This is why I've resisted the temptation to post a link...if you want to make a statement, you can always add it to your signature (people now looking at my sig...as if on cue).

Unless they don't own any or haven't added them...I'm kind of surprised that those that have posted a link, don't have any Eclipse sets listed...

Agreed Shell...I opt for the subtle route...and the main reason is, that it's an easy and spiffy way of having my own list that I can hit when I wish. This includes the blu-ray.com collection option as well.

I never said that I wasn't OCD... ;)

Luckily, though, there's a whole separate thread for people to post photos of their recent purchases.

Instead of posting a link to their collection that is sure to get lost in the multitude of pages, users should just put the link in their signature so that we can always reference when we feel the need. Personally, I know I'm not gonna have a good time going back through all of the posts just to find that someone has the same films from Criterion that I do. ;)
