Good point! I have Rules of the Game staring me in the face right now and I just can't seem to pull the trigger since it's a blind buy. Anyone seen it or own it?

Got these in the mail today, 30 bucks for all. Time Bandits is OOP and I opted for the DVD of The Last Emperor because it's superior in content. This brings me to 192 spine numbers.

Where are you getting 4 used (unless you opened them before you took this pic, either way, they look to be in great condition) for $30?

Don't worry it's a better addiction then most in any case. I just learn to control myself long ago about it, use to just spend way to much on movies. I am more careful now but on this site, I think you are pretty much a casual buyer. I have seen post where I am left wondering how can someone spend so much money on one Tuesday just for movies :) All cool as I don't have to pay for it of course :D

By all means pull the trigger! The movie was so well done the Nazis had to ban it in France. That should tell you something.

Thanks for that. Was there a reason as to why Samurai got a different case from all the other Criterion titles?? It feels kind of random, I think. Is the film good?? I've been interested in watching it for some while now. In a nutshell, what is it about?? I'd love to know :)

Are you saying empty dvd cases because I know that they are dvds. I don't know about the rest of you all but I still buy more dvds than anything else.

A seller on another forum. And these all were basically brand new. There wasn't even a crushed corner on The Last Emperor box. I have the I Am Curious... set on the way for 16 bucks new as well.

It's not different from all other Criterion titles.... see also: "Breathless" "Night of the Hunter" "Amarcord" and many others.

It's more than one disc, and Criterion's Scanovo clear-plastic cases they use are only single disc.

In a nutshell, it's about a town that gets ransacked by evil doers, so they hire 7 samurai to fight them off.

Also, "Yes" the film is good.

in short, one of the best films ever made. it's lengthy, but every second of it is magical. you don't need to know more about it, just get the blu. ;)

The Seven Samurai is widely considered one of the 10 best films ever made. It would certainly be in my top 10. It's incredible!

That sounds like a terrible debilitating condition to suffer with.

No problem.

For me, I buy films because I like them. I could care less about if it's not on blu (or "Criterion"). I buy vhs sometimes. Considering 95% of my fav movies are only on dvd or haven't been released at all, it's fair to say I buy more dvds. Let's just say there are way more films that have never even had a dvd release that I love more than what has been announced on blu-ray so far. I'm not a "tech" person (so really I am amazed I lasted this long on this forum, only signing up to ask a question, hence why I had a generic username that was changed, and here I am today).
