This was absolutely true. Their prices used to be the lowest by far. Add to that the 20%-25% off and it was EASILY worth the wait. And I never had to wait more than 7-10 days. But now that their prices are sometimes more than Amazon, it's not really worth it. Though you can still get a great deal every once in a while.

I took advantage of a coupon I had and an online discount to score Che for about 30 bucks, and when I went back to Barnes & Noble Tuesday I found their big DVD/Blu sale plus the big 2, get one free so I ordered Paris Texas, 8 1/2 and Pierrot le Fou. I got crazt deals, but I kind of hate ordering from B&N. I put in my order for Che last Tuesday morning and, like every other order I've placed there, it didn't ship same day and it's still not here after almost the end of the 8-day max estimate (it hasn't even updated tracking info for the shipment since Saturday). I opted for the three-day guaranteed for the Blus I ordered this Tuesday (normally I simply go for the longer, by USPS option because you have to sign for the guaranteed shipments and I'm usually out for classes). Hopefully I'll have all my stuff by early next week at the latest. Can't wait to check out Che and to revisit PT and 8 1/2

Once again, thanks.

According to Criterion's Facebook page, David Fincher's The Game may be on its way.

Really? The Game? Considering its HD-DVD release from Universal I would have never thought Criterion would release it.

While I'm also surprised that its coming, as CC always denied it before, they did release it on LaserDisc and of all the major studios, Universal is probbably the one that they have the best relationship with (Charade, Videodrome, FLILV, Brazil, et al.)

Cool been wondering if I should bid on the Old Laserdisc edtion they released. So this is really good news! It has needed a DVD special edition in the US for years now. So a BD release would be really great.

It would be cool if they could snag a new interview with Douglas while he's around NYC promoting Money Never Sleeps in April. I assume he explains a lot on the SS commentary, but it would be nice to get a reflective piece from him. From my standpoint, this film was a very curious choice for him, though he gave a fantastic performance.

Jacob, just thought I'd let you know that there's a new February sale for MOC titles, including February pre-orders, up over in their thread. It was sent out in their e-mail this morning. You should sign up for their mailing list, if you haven't already.

Yes, in my opinion it is. And I'm not alone. Many people I know have had problems with PayPal. My neighbor used to make a living off Ebay but had to quit due to constant problems with PayPal.

They froze my account for no good reason several years ago with $600 in it. It took my 3 F'n years to get my money from them. I refuse to ever deal with them again.

why would you ever keep $600 in a paypal balance?! it only cost 50cents to transfer it into your bank accnt, and if you have over $150 it costs you NOTHING.

Fortunately I only use it on small ebay purchases from time to time.
Never keep a balance in there.
As soon as I sell something, I transfer my paypal balance to my checking account.

+1. same here. 2 years and no problems.

Where, what? Where's the sale? Where's the mailing list? Gotta be a bit more specific, Jedi?

Criterion also released Dazed & Confused on HD DVD not long after Criterion released it on DVD. I guess it's still possible Criterion could put out a Blu of Dazed & Confused.
