No, but Last Year at Marienbad just dipped to $28.49, so I pounced. That's the last time I don't pre-order a Criterion as soon as it goes up on Amazon.com.

And the August titles should be out next week...

For All Mankind just jumped from $20 to $27 ...... so hopefully everyone got that one early!!!!

EDIT;

And "yes" I watched "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" last night with the wife..... I really want to see the supplemental material now...... I have a couple of minor questions...... but think there may be a lot more to pick up on..... certainly want to give it a second viewing sooner than later!

Did we see all seven of the "Did I ever tell you I was ... seven times? Once when I was just..."? (I don't want to give away any potential "spoilers" for people who haven't watched it yet.) I can picture five or six of them -- I loved the way they filmed those -- but I can't remember if we found out how all seven took place. It's hard to remember those throughout a nearly-three-hour movie when they're spaced years apart!

I thought the same thing after watching it..... I remember "5" maybe.... I don't think they did them all......

BAH! Where's the UPS man with my copy! Hoping it comes in today, but doubtful. Usually 2 days.

Hopefully the new pre-order titles will be up sometime today or tomorrow. Hope they don't make us wait until monday.

Tomorrow is the 15th. Won't be until at least the 15th. The 15th, or a little later. Not earlier. So, not until at least tomorrow.;)

I think your impatience for the new announcements is getting the best of you, zedd. ;) What's more unfortunate, in my opinion, is with the loss of the "Ran" blu-ray this month, we have to wait until mid-June for our next Criterion blu-ray, ya know?

I hear you CC. I'm not actually being impatient, just have a lot of free time this week, so I'm on here a lot more than normal:p .
Also, I'm trying to find a Supercube II subwoofer that I don't have to drive 4 hours to get. Sometimes it's hard to live in southwestern PA. HT is something of a joke around here...

Beta-man I may be heading to your neck of the woods for my subwoofer. Seems Erie is the closest place I can find.

My money's on a Kurosawa being one of the August titles.
I'll go with Kagemusha.

You know you may be right, with the newly discovered 35mm print being shown in New York next month. Of course, I'll take any Kurosawa on Blu.;)

I second that!

I just wish all new releases were all done on BLu .. last week I bought the DVD for Wise Blood and this upcoming week is the Friends of Eddie Coyle and I wish they were on BLU instd.

All Criterion new releases should be day and date. I can't wait till that day comes. :-)

I gave my brother a 14" supercube Reference sub...... But that was 3 months or so ago...... I've been working with my P.O.S. subwoofer until I can find a new one now :(

What's up with RAN on BLU?

Can anybody tell me what's going on with Ran on Blu-ray? Cancelled? Delayed? Why? Thanks.

Canceled....

they don't have the rights to all of the material.

Lordy 05-14-2009 07:08 PM

Something has changed from their standard DVD release?

They can't "Re-release" that one either, it's Out Of Print right now.....

They stopped printing it, when they lost the rights I'm assuming.

If anyone wants the now OOP standard DVD of RAN from Criterion a lot of stores like Barnes and Noble still have it stocked and some online retailers also. Esp if you want it for the special features usually most Criterion special features are exclusive for them.

I still need to decide on CONTEMPT on reg DVD since the word on the street is that BluRay is not going to happen since they may have lost the rights. CORRECTION CRITERION WEBSITE Lists

CONTEMPT is now OOP
