Yeah, I fully expected it so I'm not too down; however I am a little chapped that they didn't bother to give a reason for the cancellation ( computer glitch, hack job, ect.) Guess I'm just natuarally curious. :D

My e-mail read; "Your order has been cancelled - your card will not be charged." No harm, no foul I guess.

I don't see why Criterion wouldn't put Hausu on blu. It's somehow gained a huge following for being relatively unknown before Janus picked it up (The line for tickets was around the block the day I saw it, filling the art house I frequent, which never happens. And that was only one of the showings during the week it played too) So I think it would make good business sense. Plus the print looks great, and the colors, music, visuals in the film would greatly benefit from blu.

oh well, no War Trilogy for me either.
and no $8 Solaris.
looks like Supermart has no <3

You should still be able to leave negative feedback if the seller yanks away your order. Really lame the order just vanishes like it never happened.

Arkadin 05-18-2010 09:55 PM

you'll still get an email at some point requesting to leave feedback because the order was placed and accepted.
or you can just sign in to your account and leave feedback now.

You can only leave a feedback after the seller charges your credit card and ships yours item. It is rediculous that people are thinking of leaving a negative feedback when it was never a deal to begin with.

Actually it was. The seller posted items with the purchase price stated. It's not my fault the seller messed up with their prices. If it was Amazon that screwed up with the prices they should reimburse the difference between the incorrect price and what the price should have been.

If I go to Wal-Mart and see a TV for sale clearly marked $50 even though it should have been priced at $1000 I still get the TV for $50.

My orders were canceled and they disappeared from my history. While I never really believed it would happen, Supermart definitely needs to have some sort of compensation for customers beyond a simple refund, given the scale on which this problem obviously occurred. I guess I'll be contacting Amazon CS to find out just what happened here.

Hi all,
I'm new and I hope this is the best place to ask. I've been trying to order Andrei Rublev off http://www.kniga.ru but I've been having difficulties in finding the United States of America under shipping options. Prior to placing my shipping address, I selected Russian Post (air) and even tried EMS as my delivery option. However, still no results :(. I felt a good number of criterion lovers have already ordered the film from abroad and could help a film amateur!
Thanks,
Tim

Just a heads up that there are reports from people that they are picking up the Godard Essentials four movie set (non-Criterion) for $5 at Big Lots (Retail: $54 on Amazon). It includes "Le Petit Soldat" (never released by Criterion) which came after "Breathless" and before "Contempt" .

Anyway, the set contains Godard's Breathless/ Le Petit Soldat / Les Carabinieres / Notre Musique) and for me, having "Breathless" already...I want the latter three. I went to our local BL and nada...did find L'enfant and the AMC box sets but no Godard (There is also a Herzog set supposedly out there as well).

Maybe "Le Petit Soldat" but I don't see the other two being released on Blu-ray from Criterion. So, this is probably the only chance to get it in the US.

Anyway, hope you guys spot one and if you get an extra Godard set, let me know, I'm interested in one! Hehe....

[interesting to note: One person reported seeing a Criterion "WC Field’s 6 Shorts" at ROSS for $2.99. How is that possible I don't know]

Thanks, but don't need it, have the first 3 in that set. Still need Notre Musique.

I wonder what the Herzog set is though?

The United States is definitely listed in their list of countries to ship to... it's listed as USA. You'll also want to select the Russian Post (airmail) option as it is the cheapest.

Interesting. Looks like Best Buy is sticking to the $29.99 price point on Criterion blu-rays. Can someone confirm that M was also $29.99?

Not bad. I work in Lake Mary so I might check the Sanford Best Buy after work tomorrow for it. $29.99 isn't too bad.

M is listed on their .com for 34.99 and no area stores in MN ever stocked M. IT was very odd. Otherwise I picked up WALKABOUT for 29.99 last Friday, and loosk like Stagecoach will be 29.99 on blu also.

You guys can still get M for $18 via the B&N GSA code before June 1st right?

Oh thanks. I have it ordered from Criterion during the AFS sale, just waiting for it to ship this weekend with Brakhage, Walkabout and Stagecoach. Although at that price it's probably worth it to cancel M from my order and order it from B&N.
